Focus Home Interactive says they will be at Gamescom early next month showing
off The Technomancer, the cyberpunk RPG that was revealed earlier this year without a "the" in the title. In the meantime, they offer up
a new
batch of screenshots, and say they expect to release the game in 2016 for
Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. They also offer some details:
Spiders studio is back with The Technomancer, a new post-apocalyptic RPG
set in a cyberpunk world for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC set on Mars during
the War of Water, where an aspiring Technomancer faces a myriad of questions as
his future grows threatened by the secrets of his past.
Technomancers are "mage-warriors", who harness, thanks to an innate talent,
destructive electrical-based powers, amplified by their cybernetic implants.
Both respected and feared by all, they are fearsome warriors trained from a
young age to fight. You are one of them, about to finally pass your initiation
rite to become a fully-fledged Technomancer.
An RPG, The Technomancer will offer players action-oriented combat gameplay
along four different skill trees, focusing on 3 different fighting styles and
the destructive electric-focused powers of the Technomancers. But all situations
aren't necessarily to be dealt with brute strength, with dynamic conversation
dialogue playing a deep role in quests, changing the story depending on the
decisions you make. Craft equipment, weapons and armor for yourself and for the
companions you'll recruit along your adventure, nurturing relationships with
them.
On the run from the Secret Police and confronted by the harsh realities of the
Red Planet, you must undertake a quest that takes you through forgotten
paradises, cities lost under the ice, and dystopian shanties sprawled across
Mars' dusty embrace.
Faced with the cruelty of Mars' iron-fist enforcers and alien wild-life, can
you survive long enough to uncover the truth behind The Technomancer?
A new trailer from
Company of Heroes 2: The British Forces is a "know your units" feature profiling
the sniper in the upcoming standalone World War II RTS expansion. They explain
these snipers are not just to take out individual soldiers: "In addition to
targeting infantry troops on the battlefield, the sniper has two additional
capabilities: the ability to order all 25 pound howitzers in the area to fire on
a designated target, and armor piercing rounds that can damage, or even destroy,
select vehicles on the battlefield." Continue here to read the full story.

Kickstarter update from Harebrained Schemes announces a release date (and
minute) for Shadowrun: Hong Kong, saying August 20th at 1:00 pm EDT is when to
expect their turn-based tactical RPG (thanks nin). They announce the news in
this short video
noting that tomorrow marks the two-year anniversary of the release of Shadowrun
Returns. Here's word: Mitch here, with just enough bandwidth to pull my
head out of polishing the game to let you know that Shadowrun: Hong Kong has an
official release date! During the Kickstarter, we estimated that we would
release the game in August… and that’s why we’re releasing the game in August!
August 20th, 2015 at 10am PST, to be specific. On Steam, GoG, & Humble.
Estimating, scheduling and delivering something as complex as SR:HK is tough and
I’m extremely proud of the entire team for their focus, dedication, and hard
work. I’d like to say a special thank you to our ace Producer, Chris Klimecky
and my co-Director, Mike McCain for their work in getting the game to you on
time. Mike joined me at the helm a ways back so I could dedicate more time to
writing, and his work has been first rate - just like it was on Shadowrun:
Dragonfall and Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director’s Cut.
The game’s really coming together and it’s amazing to see the team’s hard work
and creative collaboration on-screen. Making games is an incredible challenge
but making games with these folks is an absolute pleasure.
We’ll be sending out another update in the next couple of weeks regarding how to
get your keys from BackerKit and an update on all the remaining Kickstarter
rewards.
In the meantime, here’s a few new screenshots & gifs we grabbed for you. Thanks
for staying with us since January and we’ll see you August 20th! Continue here to read the full story.

Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is now available
on Steam, offering
Windows gamers another chance to take on the intimidating characters from a
children's pizza parlor, though this one doesn't seem to be actually set at
Freddy's. Less than two weeks ago
it was revealed that this
would come next month, but as developer Scott Cawthon notes
in his announcement, "I'm bad with release dates." He also says he will
address an issue with the full-screen option quickly. Here's word on the
game This time, the terror has followed you home.
In this last chapter of the Five Nights at Freddy's original story, you must
once again defend yourself against Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and even
worse things that lurk in the shadows. Playing as a child whose role is yet
unknown, you must safeguard yourself until 6am by watching the doors, as well as
warding off unwanted creatures that may venture into your closet or onto the bed
behind you.
You have only a flashlight to protect yourself. It will scare away things that
may be creeping at the far end of the hallways, but be careful, and listen. If
something has crept too close, then shining lights in its eyes will be your
end.

I'm pet-sitting again, looking after the neighbors' gecko and guinea pig, Buddy
and Honey Boo-Boo (my names for them). I've never acted on my temptation to get
a lizard of my own, so visiting Buddy is fun, and he remains surprisingly engaging
for a reptile.
Honey Boo-Boo is the funnier case... she's kind of elderly, and has some sort of medical condition, and
when I first tended to her I was reassured not to feel
guilty if she shuffled off this mortal coil on my watch. That was more than a
year ago, so it's surprising and awesome to see my little rodent pal seems to be doing better than ever.
