Breaking Bad Game TMed

The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market website shows a European trademark filing for a Breaking Bad videogame filed by Sony Pictures Television Inc., suggesting a PlayStation game based on the highly regarded TV series may be in the works (thanks Design & Trend). The "goods and services" section covers both video games and video gambling machines, though this seems like boilerplate stuff:

9 Computer gaming software; gaming software that generates or displays wager outcomes of gaming machines, downloadable software in the nature of a mobile application for playing games; games playable via a global computer network, handheld electronic devices, portable video players, portable music players, smart phones, laptop computers, handheld computers, table computers, cellular phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, digital television set-top boxes, interactive digital television controllers and programmable digital television recorders; operational computer game software sold or leased together with reconfigurable casino and lottery gaming equipment.

28 Reconfigurable casino and lottery gaming equipment, namely, gaming machines sold or leased together with operational computer game software as a unit; gaming machines, namely, devices which accept a wager.

41 Gaming services, namely on-line gambling; gaming services, namely operation of an on-line casino providing video gambling games playable via a global computer network; entertainment services, namely, conducting a game of chance simultaneously at multiple, independent gaming establishments.

GeForce Driver Hotfix

NVIDIA now offers new version 353.38 hotfix drivers for GeForce graphics cards. These do not seem to be WHQL-certified, so those not experiencing the problems these address may want to hold out for now, something NVIDIA notes in their announcement. Word is these address Chrome crashes, freezes, and TDRs as well as delays when starting or switching apps and games with GSYNC enabled. Thanks DSOGaming.

TrackMania, ShootMania, and Maniaplanet Status Reports

A post to the ManiaPlanet Blog by Florent Castelnérac has an outline from the Managing Director of Ubisoft Nadeo on what they are up to, including status reports on TrackMania Turbo, ShootMania, and Maniaplanet, saying TrackMania is their focus for now, and that the latter two projects will get more attention next year (thanks Frans). Their discussion of the racing game centers around plans for console versions, and the issues they raise and this forum thread features community discussion of all these topics. Here's the state of the game update on their first-person shooter:

Shootmania
Some people talk about it as only what has been released. But for us, Shootmania is more global and includes many steps. The next one is to offer wider range of gameplay. It should be skilled at all levels but with various types and accessibility entry points. The result should be a game that is open, diverse, fun, highly skilled, with good matchmaking and beautiful visuals. And once it’s ready, we will go in the beta of Maniaplanet 4 and take more time to look at the highly skilled players wishes regarding the released version or upcoming new things made for them as well. Shootmania will benefit of the Nadeo stronger team in the years to come.

Killing Floor 2 Content Plans

Tripwire Interactive offers the E3 2015 trailer for Killing Floor 2, showing off what they topically call an "onslaught" of new content for their first-person shooter sequel that's currently in early access on Steam. There's more on this on the Tripwire website, and they offer a detailed outline of their plans in in the description of the video:

During their appearance at last week’s inaugural PC Gaming Show at E3, Tripwire Interactive proudly announced that new updates are on the way for their co-op sci-fi horror FPS game, KILLING FLOOR 2 which is available now on Steam Early Access. The Tripwire team has been hard at work creating fresh new content and continuously fine-tuning KILLING FLOOR 2 with the support of vast community feedback. Footage of recently made user-maps hand-selected from the modding community using the game’s SDK tools are also featured in this all-new trailer as a token of Tripwire’s appreciation for their continued commitment and creativity.

There is no shortage of Zeds in sight, as fans and players can expect plenty of regular updates to come in the near future, including the free Incinerate ‘N Detonate content pack which will add 50% more content to game than the initial Early Access launch. KILLING FLOOR 2 players can also be rest-assured that their stats from Early Access will not be reset. More news on these updates, including the Incinerate ‘N Detonate content pack, will be made in the near future.

Tripwire also gave fans a first look at some brand new cutting-edge gore technology, powered by NVIDIA’s PhysX Flex, which will soon be integrated into KILLING FLOOR 2. This new tech will showcase even more hyper-realistic physics effects, allowing advanced fluidity and interaction between all of the moving parts (and yes, this includes organs and intestines).

For those who missed Tripwire Interactive President, John Gibson’s appearance at the PC Gaming Show last week, the video is available to view at the following link: https://youtu.be/xLV2GhDGtzQ

Out of the Blue

Well this isn't working out as planned... I have some beef in the fridge that were supposed to become hamburgers this weekend, but the local forecast for Manstovia calls for heavy rain and lightning storms throughout. There does look like there will be a window tomorrow afternoon, so maybe I'll be able to work this out without having to resort to indoor cooking. It's actually pretty clear right now too, but I think it's just a little too early for burgers, even for me.
