Kalypso Media announces the release of the
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion
– Ultimate Edition in some territories, specifically the U.K., Benelux,
France, Italy, Spain, Nordics, Greece, Portugal, South Africa, Russia, Middle
East, and Asia. This comes without warning, as we never got a penultimate
edition, but word is this is the last planned version of the game: "Developed by
Ironclad Games and co-published by Stardock and Kalypso Media, Sins: Rebellion –
Ultimate Edition is the final instalment of the award-winning 4X real-time
strategy game and bundles the main Sins: Rebellion game with the highly praised
‘Forbidden Worlds’ and ‘Stellar Phenomena’ DLC as well as a printed manual and
soundtrack CD to create the ultimate Sins experience."
Battle.net announces plans to free up "sidelined" character names in
World of Warcraft upon the release of the version 6.2 patch for the MMORPG.
Word is that names of characters who have not logged in since December 7, 2010
will be available to newly created characters. So those hoping to be
King Vuvuzela or Bieber Hair may have the chance soon enough. Thanks
Ant.
The
Anarchy Online forums announce a new graphics engine is available for
testing in Funcom's venerable sci-fi MMORPG. This is being offered without much
fanfare, word simply is: "Click
this link
and download that file. Have feedback? We'd love to hear it! Reply here, or go
to the testlive forums and let your voice be heard!" There are warnings in the
thread from users on how to ensure you don't overwrite your existing
installation of the game." Thanks Erling.

Seemed like a lot of announcements at E3 this year. Certainly a far cry from
2007/2008 when it seemed like the whole thing was dying. Guess the show is like
PC gaming... rumors of its death were greatly exaggerated.
