Archived News:
Focus Home Interactive officially announces Vampyr, though they revealed
development of this vampire-themed RPG from Dontnod via a tweet earlier
this year. They say this is expected in 2017 for Windows, Xbox One, and
PlayStation 4. They illustrate the announcement with a
teaser concept trailer,
and have this to say about plans for the game: Vampyr is set in early
20th century Britain as the country is gripped by the lethal Spanish flu and the
streets of London are crippled by disease, violence and fear. In a disorganized
and ghostly city, those foolish, desperate, or unlucky enough to walk the
streets lay prey to Britain’s most elusive predators: the vampires. Emerging
from the chaos, a tormented figure awakens. You are Jonathan E. Reid, a
high-ranking military surgeon transformed into a vampire upon his return home
from the frontline.
Explore the darkly atmospheric streets of early 20th century London, and
interact with a multitude of characters with their own identities and
importance. Accept and fulfill the missions they give you, but don’t forget:
sooner or later, you will have to feed, and make a difficult choice... who will
be your prey? Absolutely all characters in the game are potential victims of
your vampiric lust. Carefully study the habits of your next victim, his or her
relationships with other characters, and set up your strategy to feed,
unnoticed: seduce them, change their daily habits, or make sure they end up
alone in a dark street...
Be careful who you choose to hunt, as they will be gone forever, and their death
will impact in a meaningful way the world that surrounds you. Feeding on human
blood will not just keep you "alive"; it will also unlock new vampiric powers to
use.

Another E3 2015 trailer
for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege shows off co-op gameplay from the upcoming
tactical shooter, captured showing five players teaming up against the AI.
Here's word from
the UbiBlog:
We’ve told you all about the new TerroHunt in Rainbow Six Siege. We dug
in on the little details like “What modes are part of it?” and “Who are we
fighting this time?” But what is it like to actually play TerroHunt? Better yet,
what’s it like to play TerroHunt on the hardest setting in the game? After
spending a good chunk of time with TerroHunt on Normal, my team and I decided to
give Realistic a shot in the newly revealed Consulate map and what followed was
an adventure full of surprise Bombers, accidental team kills and seemingly
impossible scenarios. Continue here to read the full story.

2K announces plans to evolve Evolve with a new monster and four new
hunters coming to the four-versus-one multiplayer shooter individually or as
part of a Hunting Season 2 package. The bundle will require some patience,
however, as while the first hunter is due next month, it may be the end of the
first quarter of next year before all five characters are available for natural
selection. Here's word: 2K and Turtle Rock Studios announced today that
one new Monster and four new Hunters are coming to Evolve™, the 4v1 shooter in
which four Hunters cooperatively fight to take down a single-player controlled
Monster. Offered individually, or as part of Hunting Season 2*, all five new
characters will be made available prior to the end of Take-Two Interactive,
Inc.’s fiscal year on March 31, 2016. The first new character, Lennox (Assault
class), will be available on June 23, 2015.
Evolve Hunting Season 2 will be available for purchase on June 23, 2015 for Xbox
One, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC. Those who
purchase the new Monster and Hunters as part of Hunting Season 2 will also
receive an additional exclusive skin with the launch of each of the five new
included playable characters.
Coming to Evolve later this month, Lennox (Assault class) is the first Hunter in
Evolve to feature a melee attack. Her ‘Thunderchild’ mechanized suit is equipped
with a Plasma Lance that deals massive amounts of damage in close combat, while
her Autocannon and Thunder Strike attack allow Lennox to fight when outside of
melee range.
“The new Monster and Hunters coming to Evolve in Hunting Season 2 are some of
the most unique characters our team has created,” said Chris Ashton, co-founder
and design director at Turtle Rock Studios. “Each of these characters introduces
combat mechanics that are brand new to the Evolve gameplay experience.”

PC Invasion - The PC Gaming Show: The Good, The Bad, and The AMD.
"Chris Roberts turned up in a video recording to remind people that Star
Citizen had made an awful lot of money. A couple of people from Creative
Assembly appeared to present a video containing literally two seconds of
in-engine footage from Total War: Warhammer and a big advert for the real
trailer in July (plus the not-exactly-amazing confirmation that Warhammer
will feature some famous heroes from the tabletop version.) And as much as I
love Obsidian and Pillars of Eternity, I don’t think it needed both Feargus
Urquhart and a Paradox representative to present a short video confirming
the expected expansion."

The Gunnar-man and I have managed to elude the authorities since being reported for leashlessness and while I
leash him when I'm near the complainer's house I allow him to walk free most of
the time. Everybody else we've ever run
into is fine with him being loose, as he just collects compliments for being so
well behaved. We had a great example of that yesterday, as a local DPW guy
stopped his truck to inform me that Gunnar and I were being followed by a deer.
Sure enough, there was a young deer tagging along on people's lawns as we
strolled the sidewalk, clearly fascinated by Gunnar, who was certainly curious
back. But after being told to be good, he didn't bark or chase, and they made tentative friends, getting to within a couple
of feet of each other. When it was time to move on, the deer continued to follow
us for a few houses, and when we went for a second walk later in the day, Gunnar
eagerly searched for his new buddy. All in all a funny experience, and one that
sounds a little farfetched, so I have some
photographic evidence of the
encounter to quell any skepticism. And no, I don't know what that growth is by the
deer's left eye.
