The
Official YouTube Blog heralds the launch of a YouTube Gaming app and website
this summer. Here's word on what Twitch
is calling
the entry of player 2 into the game: This summer, we'll launch YouTube
Gaming, a brand new app and website to keep you connected to the games, players,
and culture that matter to you, with videos, live streams, and the biggest
community of gamers on the web—all in one place.
YouTube Gaming is built to be all about your favorite games and gamers, with
more videos than anywhere else. From "Asteroids" to "Zelda," more than 25,000
games will each have their own page, a single place for all the best videos and
live streams about that title. You’ll also find channels from a wide array of
game publishers and YouTube creators.
Keeping up with these games and channels is now super easy, too. Add a game to
your collection for quick access whenever you want to check up on the latest
videos. Subscribe to a channel, and you'll get a notification as soon as they
start a live stream. Uncover new favorites with recommendations based on the
games and channels you love. And when you want something specific, you can
search with confidence, knowing that typing “call” will show you “Call of Duty”
and not “Call Me Maybe.”
Live streams bring the gaming community closer together, so we’ve put them
front-and-center on the YouTube Gaming homepage. And in the coming weeks, we’ll
launch an improved live experience that makes it simpler to broadcast your
gameplay to YouTube. On top of existing features like high frame rate streaming
at 60fps, DVR, and automatically converting your stream into a YouTube video,
we’re redesigning our system so that you no longer need to schedule a live event
ahead of time. We’re also creating single link you can share for all your
streams.
YouTube Gaming will be available this summer, starting in the U.S. and U.K.
We’re building this just for gamers—so we want to hear from you about how we can
make it the best way to connect with your community. If you’re at E3 next week,
come by our booth for an early look at everything we’ve been working on. If not,
tune in live from home at youtube.com/e3, head over to gaming.youtube.com and
follow us @YouTubeGaming and you’ll be the first to know when YouTube Gaming is
ready for you to play with.
Konami officially announces Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, saying the 20th
anniversary installment in the sports series will kick off in September. The
Pro Evolution Soccer website
offers a teaser
trailer and an even newer
E3 trailer offers a
lengthier look. Here's word: Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. has
announced a September 15th / 17th release date for PES 2016, marking the 20th
anniversary edition of the hugely successful football series.
From its humble origins on PSOne, the PES series has leaped from format to
format, adding ever more realism as it evolved. This heritage has been
celebrated in PES 2016’s new tagline ‘Love The Past, Play The Future’,
highlighting the series’ recent return to core PES values in last year’s PES
2015 and focusing on the many new gameplay and presentational elements that will
further establish the series as the definitive soccer experience.
PES 2016 aims to retain its title of ‘Best Sports Game’, as voted across the
world at games shows and by major media outlets in 2014, by continuing to lead
the way in the recreation of ‘The Beautiful Game’. The series aims to go back to
its roots to create an exciting match between users, and proudly present PES
2016 to deliver quality gameplay following ‘The Pitch is Ours’ mantra. From
further integration of the industry leading Fox Engine to bring the on-pitch
action to life and the full commitment to centre the product around creating the
best gameplay experience, to the full redevelopment of Master League, every
facet of the game has been enhanced to deliver yet another outstanding product.

Focus Home Interactive reveals what they are calling an unannounced action/RPG,
though it's fairer to say they are announcing the game but not its title. This
is in the works at Lords of the Fallen developer Deck13 for release in
2017 for Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. For now all they are revealing is
that this has a dystopian science fiction setting. Here's word: We are
thrilled to announce our partnership with Deck13 Interactive, Frankfurt based
developer famed for games such as Lords of the Fallen, to bring you a new
premium action RPG IP set in a dystopian sci-fi future to be revealed by name at
a later date.
The new game will feature innovative combat mechanics and an original character
progression system based on modular upgrades gained through tight, visceral
combat.
Of the new partnership, Deck13 Interactive CEO’s Florian Stadlbauer and Jan
Klose said, respectively, "We are delighted to be working with Focus Home
Interactive. Our relationship with the company over the past few months has
created a lot of trust and confidence already. During the past years, the Focus
team has shown that they are extremely successful in marketing European titles
worldwide."
Klose, CEO and Creative Director, stated "After our recent major project, the
team at Deck13 is eager to take on the next challenge. We have learned a lot and
want to deliver an even greater experience to core gamers this time."
Focus Home Interactive’s Managing Partner Cedric Lagarrigue added “We are
ecstatic to announce this new partnership with one of the very best independent
European development studios. We’ve been excited by Deck13’s new project since
our first exchange with them, and as we’ve just got through the pre-production
phase, we’re fully convinced by their capacities to deliver one of the most
exciting RPGs to come in the future.”
The unannounced IP will be revealed at a later date, and the game is expected to
launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with a retail and digital release in
2017.

This
video offers a 30 second TV commercial for Batman: Arkham Knight that
we
can view without having to DVR though one of those annoying programs that breaks
up the ads. Word is: "Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC
Entertainment today unveiled the new TV spot for Batman: Arkham Knight. The
video features highlights from Rocksteady Studios’ much anticipated video game,
set to the brand new track “Mercy” from Muse’s seventh studio album, Drones.
According to Matt Bellamy, the record 'explores the journey of a human: from
abandonment and loss of hope, to indoctrination by the system to be a human
drone, to eventual defection from the oppressors.' Reminiscent of The Dark
Knight’s own journey, it will inspire fans to be the vengeance, be the night and
be the Batman." Continue here to read the full story.

Blazing Griffin announces plans to release The Ship HD next year,
offering a modernized version of the 2006 mystery game that was originally
launched as a Half-Life 2 modification. The news is accompanied by
this teaser trailer, and here's the full announcement, complete with a
paraphrased Eagles lyric (apologies to The Dude): Blazing Griffin has
announced that development has begun on The Ship: HD.
Launched in 2006, the original game (“The Ship: Murder Party”) introduced
players to The Ship set aboard a series of 1920’s cruise ships. Lured onto the
doomed vessels by the mysterious Mr X, the player is offered a very simple
choice – hunt or be hunted! Assigned a quarry who they must hunt down and kill,
the player must also avoid their own hunter while maintain their personal needs
such as hunger, thirst and hygiene.
The quirky blend of unique gameplay and dark humour has seen the game grow in
popularity over the years and more recently become a hit with Youtubers who love
to share their many, many, many untimely deaths with their subscribers.
In 2014 Blazing Griffin was joined by Jason Kocemba as Technical Director. Jason
was Lead Programmer on the original Ship mod, The Ship: Murder Party and Bloody
Good Time and brings a wealth of experience to the team as well as valuable
insight into the creative vision behind the original game.
On the development of The Ship: HD, Jason notes: "I loved making The Ship game
the first time round, it was some of the best times I've had in the industry.
I'm really excited to have the opportunity to work on the HD version of The Ship
with a different bunch of awesomely talented folks. It's a second chance at
unfinished business. It's a little bit like, to (mis)quote The Eagles, "You can
disembark any time you like but you can never leave!"
The Ship: HD is planned for launch in early 2016. Continue here to read the full story.
ATLUS announces The Deadly Tower of Monsters, an action/adventure "oozing with
B-movie charm" from ACE Team that's coming to Windows and PlayStation 4 this
autumn. This trailer shows
things off, and they say the game will be on display next week at E3. Here's
word: Dateline Hollywood! The Deadly Tower of Monsters, the newest
downloadable title from ACE Team and ATLUS will be available for PC and
PlayStation®4 this fall! Developed entirely in color, DTOM is an action-based
adventure oozing with B-movie charm. Gaze at the incredible realism Monsterama
vision provides for all the Nuclear Ants, Lizard Men, and the countless other
enemies you'll face.
The single-player adventure has another fun mechanic - the player's progress up
the tower stays visible the entire time the player climbs far into the reaches
of outer space. Not to mention all the enemies that can climb/fly up the tower
to attack you from below; and hey - sometimes if you get stuck, the only way up
is to fall down - freefall that is. Embrace gravity and freefall to find new
paths, explore hidden areas, or if you just really miss terra firma (yes, you
can fall allllllllllllllllll the way down). Continue here to read the full story.
There are thunderstorms possible in this area every day for the foreseeable
future according to the weather forecast. Even if I was to manage to overcome my
aversion to grilling in the rain, I have no desire to become that guy everyone
talks about who was struck by lightning, so this is really going to hinder the
festivities in Manstovia for the time being, which is not making me happy.
