A
sponsored post on Gamasutra reveals that Amazon is gearing up to develop its
first PC game (we don't do sponsored posts, we're passing along out of the
goodness of our hearts). Amazon is not being humble about this (how much harder
can game development be than delivering merchandise?), implying they are going
to elevate the medium, saying: "We believe that games have just scratched the
surface in their power to unite players and will produce some of the future’s
most influential voices in media and art." Here's more: The team is made
of former Portal, World of Warcraft and BioShock creators, and we’re building a
team of top talent for an ambitious new PC game project using the latest
technology. Our team in Seattle has worked on a lot of other great titles like
Half Life 2, Left for Dead, Dota 2, Halo, Infamous, Shadows of Mordor and The
Last of Us.
If you want to be on the tip of the spear for game design and technology,
contact us. We want people that are
driven to make the best games in the industry. We're looking to take interesting
risks, and invent!
Steam now offers a
playable demo for Football Tactics, the Early Access turn-based strategy
game based on the real-time sport of association football/soccer Here's all they
say about the demo, which is really just a generic (translated?) description of
the game: "Football Tactics - is a tactical football manager with turn based
matches. Create your own club, and turn it to a team of the champions." Thanks
Frans.
An E3 Debate trailer
is a live-action dealie promoting Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the upcoming
continuation of the action/RPG series. This is an odd comedy-heavy exercise
which offers interactive branching outcomes based on your decisions. Word is:
"It’s almost E3! Play as Adam Jensen’s actor in our interactive video, and find
out what’s in store for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided." Continue here to read the full story.

Superfight DLC
We have also partnered with Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment to bring
Superfight into Tabletop Simulator as official DLC. Superfight is the viral card
game sensation in which players use cards to create ridiculous characters, and
then argue about who would win in a fight. Superfight is now available for
$4.99. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/367330)
Dan Murray, President of Skybound Interactive states, “The entire Skybound team
is thrilled to expand the universe of Superfight with Tabletop Simulator. We
look forward to seeing Superfight live in the digital world for years to come.”

Today is one of those dates that only has one association for me, as all I can
think about when June 6th comes up is D-Day. Operation Overlord, the Allied
invasion of Europe, began 71 years ago today, and within a week, over one
million soldiers(!!) had landed on the shores of France. It's estimated that
over 4,000 allied troops died storming the beaches, and I will always marvel at
the courage of the participants, who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice
for what they considered to be the greater good. Salute.
