The
SOMA website now features a
new trailer for
SOMA which also reveals a release date, saying Frictional Game's psychological
horror game is due on Steam and PlayStation 4 on September 22nd (thanks Eric). In an email
blast they provided a few additional tidbits about the video:
Here are
three quick bits of trivia about the video:
1) When the video starts we are about 1 hour into the game.
2) The protagonist is not an amnesiac. He has an established past, knows who he
is, but isn't at all sure about the situation he's in.
3) There are lots more things to explore in this level than what's shown in the
video. For instance, you can avoid the robot attack completely by acting
differently.
That's it for now! We hope you like the footage and we're looking forward
hearing what you think about the game after release!

We had breakfast in a diner this morning while waiting for an oil change when a
commotion broke out. It started with a woman complaining about her turkey
sausage just as I was walking past her to pay the bill, but by the time I got to
the cash register she was already shouting about how unacceptable this was. Her
poor waitress came up with the plate to explain to the manager that there was a
problem when the shouting became screaming, as she repeatedly screeched "this is
not food!" As the manager started instructing someone to call the police, which
this woman did not even overhear, she began throwing her remaining plates on the
floor with such gusto that broken porcelain was everywhere. Luckily no one was
hurt, and she stormed off, and even thought the police arrived pretty quickly,
she was already long gone. Everybody involved agreed they'd never heard of
anything like this before, so I guess there's no sense going back there hoping
for a similarly entertaining floor show.
