Steam now offers Early
Access to RONIN, a stylish turn-based action platformer that sadly includes neither
Robert De Niro nor Sean Bean. This previously released
gameplay trailer
offers a look, and here's a description: Vengeful developer Tomasz Waclawek and shadowy game label Devolver Digital
unleashed the turn-based action-platformer RONIN on Steam Early Access as the
game enters its final phase of development. During this four-week stretch in
Early Access, developer Tomasz Waclawek and the community will work to finely
tune the controls, difficulty curve, and overall gameplay of the otherwise
complete game.
RONIN is stylish a turn-based action platformer following the exploits of a
vengeful heroine determined to strike down five prominent figures of a powerful
corporation. Move with precision by meticulously planning out each silent step,
soaring leap, and devastating swing of your blade from the shadows as you seek
your revenge. Continue here to read the full story.
The Planetsł website has word
that those who have preordered the open-world voxel-based RPG are now entitled
to download the alpha version (thanks nin). Here's the news: Today is a
big day for the Planetsł project: the alpha version is now available!
For those of you who preordered a game license eligible for the alpha, you can
download it here.
We wanted to surprise you with the alpha: you will be able to experiment a first
preview of a randomly generated dungeon. The goal is to show you the science
fiction RPG aspect of the game and a preview of our generation engine. We spent
almost 5 months to develop all mechanisms required for this new feature. 5
months during which we had to remain silent, to prevent any spoil of this
surprise until today.
Even if we are still far from what we will deliver for the final game, we hope
that you will like this alpha content as much as we like it!
Talking about the story: the alpha is a prologue, the story take place 200 years
before the facts that will be related in the game. This allow us to introduce 2
of the main species: the Humans and the Cognitrons. This alpha content will most
certainly be used in the final game. So it was not a waste of time.
We leave it to you to discover the rest of the story by exploring this alpha
content yourself.

CD Projekt RED doesn't plan on discussing Cyberpunk 2077 in earnest for a
couple of years,
telling Reuters that they are concentrating for now on the mainstream
success of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. "We hope and we are certain that
Cyberpunk has even bigger commercial potential," the Polish developer says. "It
is too early to talk about it, though. This year, and the next one will be the
years of the Witcher." The implication that they won't be discussing Cyberpunk
2077 for a couple of years is a little surprising, since it was first
announced three years ago this week. They note that the new Witcher game is
expected to sell as many as seven million units, and that profits from the RPG
sequel will help fund Cyberpunk 2077 and a couple of Witcher 3 add-ons. Thanks

Gearbox Software announces that after conducting some background
experiments, they are permanently tripling the drop rate of legendary items in
both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
Here's the good news for new players that may be frustrating for those of us who
have a bag of crap to show for years of loot hunting: The results of our
recent Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
legendary drop rate experiments are in! A special thanks goes out to
everyone who played and shared feedback over the last few weeks.
After analyzing thousands of hours of your gameplay and feedback survey data,
we’ve decided to add a permanent 3x drop rate increase to both games!
Yes, you read that right – starting May 26, hot fixes* that increase legendary
drop rates will be rolling out for Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,
and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection across all platforms! We’ll be looking
to permanently incorporate these hot fixes via future updates down the road.
For the curious, here’s a little background on how the experiments went down.
Every week between April 9 and May 13 had a different legendary drop rate
modifier applied via hot fix, but we held back on the exact details. We did this
because we wanted to find out what drop rate felt right and didn’t want player
opinions being influenced by the numbers.
For those five weeks, community members tested out the drop rates and let us
know what they thought via the forums and feedback surveys. After digging
through all the data, we discovered that standard drop rates were perceived as
too rare but that anything over a 3x boost felt like too much – almost to the
point where it was starting to take away the challenge and excitement from
seeing that beautiful orange glow.

It's shaping up to be a summer of love for the Gunnar-man, who continues to show
amazing social skills in his second act as an only dog. He's got no fewer than
three girlfriends who are obsessed with him, and a whole roster of other doggie
friends, including a number whose owners claim they don't get along with any
other dogs. The funny thing about his girlfriends is that he's not neutered, and
all of them are spayed, but they seem more interested in sexy times than he is, as all
he wants to do is cavort. Likewise his "fixed" male buddies don't seem thrown by
whatever testosterone he gives off, and get along with him swimmingly. Being in
a family with an aggressive Airedale Terrier held back his ability to meet other
dogs for around 10 years, but he's making up for lost time in a remarkable
manner, as he is turning out to be one of the best socialized dogs I've ever
seen.
