The Killing Floor 2
End User License Agreement turns out to have some interesting language about
how developer Tripwire Interactive plans on dealing with griefers in their
shooter sequel (thanks
Ars Technica). There is extensive discussion of the topic on
the Steam forums, and here are the paragraphs that have spurred all the
conversation: We also will not tolerate anyone using the game, or any
servers or forums provided for the game, to be continually or repeatedly abusive
to other players. This includes, but is not limited to, "griefing", racist
bigotry, sexism or any other forms of "cyber bullying". We will also not
tolerate anyone hosting servers for the game where such behaviors are
continually or repeatedly allowed to take place.
If we find you are a Cheater or Abusive, we will revoke your CD key and ban you
from the KF2 servers and tell your mom! Your license will automatically
terminate, without notice, and you will have no right to play KF2 or any KF2
Mods against other players or make any other use of KF2. End of story.

Ubisoft now offers this
trailer showing off gameplay from
Knights of Pen & Paper 2, their upcoming meta-game sequel. They seem to be
having a bit of fun with us, as they tout how the trailer exhibits the game's
signature 16-bit graphics at 60 frames-per-second, but hey, all games should run
smoothly. Here's word: "Roll up for adventure in Knights of Pen & Paper 2, the
new turn-based adventure sequel to Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition, coming to

rolling saves, and bickering endlessly at the fully customizable party. Assemble
a group of virtual friends, dress them in class-specific hats, and take on an
all-new series of quests, including dynamic dungeons, an improved combat system,
new loot and crafting mechanics, and more, as the party faces its greatest
challenge yet: the new edition of the ruleset." Continue here to read the full story.
I recently described the realization that our
smoke detectors were past their effective use dates, and were long overdue for
replacement. A trip to the Home Depot was eye-opening, as there's a development
in the field I don't recall when last shopping for a smoke alarm, as they now
have sealed ones with ten-year batteries designed to last the life of the unit.
I wish I'd known of these years ago, as they would have saved Hudson the wonder
dog considerable agita over the years, as she used to freak out at the chirping
our old ones made when low on batteries. Oh well, The Gunnar-man isn't fond of
the chirping either, and the batteries always seemed to go in the middle of the
night, so this is a positive development.
