After some hinting, Codemasters officially announces Overlord: Fellowship of
Evil, a return to the Overlord series of action/RPGs where you get to play the
bad guy. They plan on a release this year for Windows, PlayStation 4, and
Xbox One, and celebrate the news with
An Open Letter from Gnarl on the Codemasters Blog and the launch of the
Overlord: Fellowship of Evil
website. They also offer
a new trailer and
outline more on their plans in
this video developer's
diary. Here's the announcement: Are you sick of RPGs casting you
as a valiant bore? Do you need a fresh breath of putrid air in fantasy Action
RPG gaming? Then it’s time to thank the dark Gods; everyone’s favorite pantomime
of gaming evil has returned! After six years of scheming away in their darkest
dungeons, the Codemasters development Minions have hatched their most diabolical
gaming experience yet – Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, invading PlayStation® 4
computer entertainment system; Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment
system from Microsoft and Windows PC in 2015.
Boasting a devilishly good script written by the original’s award-winning
scriptwriter Rhianna Pratchett, Overlord: Fellowship of Evil gives players a
brand new, darkly comic quest to embark upon. Fans of evil doings can watch the
first trailer in action now at
www.overlordthegame.com.
With the last true Overlord deceased, gamers take up the role of one of four
Netherghūls. These brand new, suitably nefarious additions to the series are
undead servants of the dark arts, determined to bring evil back to a world
overrun by the forces of good.
But where’s the fun in smiting fools alone? Join the Fellowship, grab three of
your most devious friends - locally or online - and gleefully unleash a wave of
delightful destruction across the land. For the Master!
Are you the type of ne’er-do-well who thinks that friends are the disgusting
product of weak-minded goody-goodies? Fear not! You can always choose to screw
them over too - evil never plays by the rules!
Assisted by your horde of loveably moronic minions, Overlord: Fellowship of Evil
takes gamers back into the series’ charmingly twisted world, resurrecting its
unique blend of subversive humor and destruction, and then sprinkling in a large
helping of four player co-op chaos to dial the eviling up to evileven. Fans will
be pleased to hear that the Minions are led by their wise master Gnarl, voiced
once again by beloved voice actor Marc Silk.

Rockstar Support now
offers a statement about reports of players losing access to their Rockstar
Social Club accounts, which prevents access to Grand Theft Auto V.
Problems with hijacked accounts surfaced
last week, and there was a
report just yesterday that Rockstar
support was having trouble communicating where things stood for those
complaining of lost accounts. Now they explain that they have temporarily
disabled the ability to change the email address associated with an account, and
expect to restore lost access within 24 hours of being contacted. Here's
word: We are aware that unauthorized attempts have been made to access
Rockstar Games Social Club accounts using email and password combinations
sourced from unaffiliated, compromised websites or databases elsewhere on the
internet. For the accounts affected, we are in the process of reverting those
accounts back to their original owners. As a result, the ability to change email
addresses for Social Club accounts has been temporarily disabled. See the
following Rockstar Support article for more information here. As a reminder, it
is a good policy to ensure that the Rockstar Games Social Club account username
and password is not shared across multiple websites on the internet. For
accounts affected with this issue, we are working to respond to customers to
reinstate full user access within 24 hours of contacting Customer Support.
Please continue to look to the Rockstar Support website for more information as
it develops.

Third-person action/adventure sonder is being reworked as an episodic
release, announces KAMAi MEDIA (now written in mixed caps to make up for their
all-lowercase game name). They celebrate the news with a new
video development diary
titled "Who Are You" (I really wanna kno-o-o-ow) that includes developer
commentary along with a first look at gameplay, which is said to be from an
early prototype. Here's word on the change, saying a new rapid development
system will help make the episodic system work: KAMAi MEDIA announced that
the game format has shifted from a single game into a series of short episodes,
with the first one coming this summer. Every episode will feature “sonder.”s
unique style of non-linear narrative gameplay in which it is ultimately up to
the player to determine the outcome of the situation he has been put into. The
episodic format will allow KAMAi MEDIA to bring the game to gamers faster.
The proprietary tech that KAMAi MEDIA is using to be able to deliver this unique
gameplay (including the game engine as well as the “Alato” toolset) has been the
focus of development over the past year, and it has now matured enough to allow
rapid development of scenarios for the upcoming episodes.
“We are hoping to bring gamers into our development process, and through
engagement with our players between episodes, improve the experience and make
our game better with the help of the community.” said Petar Kotevski of KAMAi
MEDIA. Continue here to read the full story.
The Panache Digital
Games website has the announcement of Ancestors : the Humankind Odyssey,
the first title from this
studio formed by
former Ubisoft designer Patrice Desilets, a major contributor to the Assassin's
Creed series. Things are vague for now, as they say this will be an episodic
action/adventure, but don't offer a release date or target platforms, though
they do promise "much more" this year. Here's word: Our first game is
Ancestors : the Humankind Odyssey.
Our game is a third person action-adventure survival episodic game.
Through each episodes, we want the player to relive the greatest moments of
mankind with a documentary twist. Our civilisation is one idea away from
extinction... or evolution.
Stay tuned much more to come in 2015!
Here's a thank you to the forum poster who pointed out that the reason GeForce
Experience wasn't offering settings recommendations for Grand Theft Auto V was
because it needed to be pointed to where the game is installed. And here's a no
thanks to NVIDIA, as I wasn't completely happy with the outcome. And with so
many settings, I'm still not sure I have things back the way I liked them before
I started experimenting, but that's okay, I probably wouldn't be a PC gamer if I
didn't enjoy geeking out over tweaking settings and stuff.
