Archived News:
WWE.com has word that WWE 2K15 is coming to Windows PCs along with
screenshots of the PC edition of the wrestling simulation. Word is: "This
spring, WWE 2K15, the latest edition of 2K’s venerated series of WWE video
games, will make its long-awaited debut on Windows PC. Check out exclusive
screenshots from the highly-anticipated WWE video game." They
also announce that this will include all the DLC already available for the
game. Here's word, including quotes from wrassler John Cena: Part of what
made WWE 2K15 so successful was the game’s downloadable content, which will also
make its way to the PC version later this spring. That includes the grapplers of
the WCW and NXT ArRIVAL packs, as well as the additional 2K Showcase modes such
as "One More Match," "Hall of Pain" and "Path of the Warrior."
Oh, and did we mention that the DLC content for the PC version of WWE 2K15 will
be free? For Cena, that’s easily one of the most exciting parts about this
announcement.
"One of the great bonuses of getting the game on PC is that you get nearly all
of the downloadable content that was released after WWE 2K15 launched in October
free, as part of the package," Cena said. "That’s an incredible amount of
content: 36 extra characters, 4 new managers, 26 matches, 46 entire single
player stories and cut scenes in 2K Showcase, and a whole lot more. It doesn’t
take a rocket scientist to figure out that that’s a pretty awesome
deal."
Steam now offers Early
Access to Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, and the platformer sequel
carries a 10% discount for the first week, so if you're not buyin', don't blame
Trine. Here's the
early

Frozenbyte has launched Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power on Steam® Early

editor
release at launch. We hope to get a lot of feedback to make sure we focus on the
right things, and we want to involve the community right from the start,” says
Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen.
The Early Access period starts with two fully playable Story levels and two
non-story related levels. The third Story level will be available in May, and
the full version of the game is expected in the fall 2015.

Convoy Games announces the release of
Convoy, their throwback game
strategy RPG described as Mad Max meets FTL. This is now available for Windows
and OS X, and they continue to truck along on the Linux edition, which will come
down the road along with other elements promised by their Kickstarter such as
the scenario editor and the modding API. Here's word: Presented in pixel
art and set in a future post-apocalyptic setting, Convoy is a squad based
tactical roguelike-like in its core. You travel with your combat vehicles and
convoy across a wasteland to find parts needed to repair your broken spaceship.
During your journey you will encounter strangers in randomized scenarios by
picking up radio signals.
Depending on the choices you make, signals can either lead to tactical combat,
text based dialogue or chance based role-play. Whatever choice you make, you
need to keep your convoy and its cargo safe from raiders, privateers and other
enemies. Keep upgrading your vehicles, as death is permanent in Convoy.

A
thread on reddit features discussion from players who've had their Rockstar
Social Club accounts hijacked, pointing to sources indicating some sort of
widespread account thefts have occurred since the launch of Grand Theft Auto
V for PC.
Kotaku Australia has a statement from Rockstar saying this is not due to an
security compromise on their network, saying: "For the accounts affected, we are
in the process of reverting those accounts back to their original owners. As a
reminder, it is a good policy to ensure that the Rockstar Games Social Club
account username and password is not shared across multiple websites on the
internet."

I upgraded my PC yesterday for the first time since I built it, adding a spiffy
new GTX
970 (I got the Gigabyte Gamer G1 model which is carrying a rebate). I'm very pleased to be able to bump up the textures and other settings in
GTA5, as the game looks that much more fantastic. What I didn't expect was how
much smoother this would make running desktop applications, as running two 1080p
monitors was (in retrospect) obviously putting more of a strain on my old GTX 760
than I realized. The little
bit of lag and other hitches were minor enough that I never specifically
identified them as video performance issues, but now that they're cleared up,
I'm sure swapping the cards back would drive me crazy.
