Polygon has an internal video prototype for Alan Wake 2, saying this
is the most polished sample Remedy used to shop around the idea of an Alan
Wake sequel for publishers. They also have thoughts from Remedy's Sam Lake
on what they had planned for follow-ups to the original game, and some of that
ended up in Alan Wake's American Nightmare. All this makes it sound like
they are giving up on Alan Wake 2, but he says that's not the case. "The thing
that made this idea of releasing this prototype demo OK is that it is very much
on a high level," Lake explains. "There are no spoilers in it. That being said,
I do hope we get an opportunity to work on Alan Wake 2. I want to do more Wake
at some point."
GameArt Studio announces the release of Fermi's Path

worlds while avoiding obstacles and fighting incoming particles. In addition to
the many and ever faster and harder getting levels, Fermi's Path offers an
infinity mode and a level editor. Of course, Steam Achievements, various Trading
Cards, Leaderboards, the Steam Workshops for sharing levels, are a must!"

Publisher Gameforge and developer Robot Entertainment
announce that phase
two of the closed beta test of Orcs Must Die! Unchained is now underway,
offering a producer's letter and
patch notes for the updated beta. They add that this means they will no
longer be offering Founder's Packs going forward, offering special thanks to
founders for their support. They also announce a full wipe and other regional
localizations are part of the process: Due to the nature of the changes
introduced in CB2, player progress will be wiped. Player level, card packs,
decks and friend lists will be reset for everybody. Everyone will be starting
fresh. All acquired Gold will be maintained and reset to pre-spend levels.
Players will also keep all skins that have been acquired through contests,
tournaments or giveaways. I know this will be tough for some of you, but this a
by-product of the beta process and is necessary for the game to improve. We
believe that the new mechanics and play options introduced should make up for
the reset and we hope you will agree.
Finally, at first we will only be releasing the English language version for CB2
as we put the new content and changes through a full localisation. Other
languages will come online as soon as is practical.
A new video
highlights the news that the original cast of Firefly will reprise their roles

saying that playing Mal was the best role he's ever had. This all comes from a
larger piece on the topic available through the game's companion app, and
Videogamer notes this reveals the only cast member not returning will be
Gina Torres as Zoe. Continue here to read the full story.

Grand Theft Auto V for Windows debuts at number one on the
GfK Chart-Track chart of the 30 bestselling PC games in the U.K. last week.
Mortal Kombat X is the other new entry at number five. On the
all platforms chart Mortal Kombat X joins at number one, knocking
Battlefield Hardline into third place. Here's
their big summary: Launched
on Tuesday 14th April, Warner’s ‘Mortal Kombat X’ reignites the 23 year old beat
‘em up franchise, debuting at No1 with the 2nd biggest launch of the year so far
(behind Battlefield Hardline) and the biggest ever launch for a Mortal Kombat
title.
The PS4 version was the big winner with a 61% share compared to 38% on Xbox One
and 1% on PC. After four weeks at the top (the longest run for any title so far
this year), ‘Battlefield Hardline’ (-34%) is beaten down to No3 as ‘Grand Theft
Auto V’ (+94%) is propelled back up to No2 thanks to the successful launch on
Tuesday of the PC version. ‘FIFA 15’ (-34%) slips back to No4 from No2, only 60
sales behind Battlefield this week.
Sales of ‘Bloodborne’ are only down 14%, helping it move up one place to No5,
ahead of ‘Far Cry 4’ (-33%) which drops two places to No6. ‘Call of Duty:
Advanced Warfare’ (-39%) also falls two places, down to No7, while the two
Minecrafts both have a solid week, as the Xbox Edition (-3%) rises 2 places to
No8 and the Playstation One (-13%) jumps back into the Top 10, up from No14 to
No9. ‘Dying Light’ (-22%) manges to climb one place to No10, ensuring Warner
have 2 games in the Top 10 this week.
Happy 4/20. Please be safe if you are celebrating. Best commemoration of the
occasion? I'd have to say the Philadelphia Eagles, who shared a fattie and
apparently
cooked up a plan to sign Tim Tebow. Those guys really know how to party.
