bunch of press accolades and the following word: "Game of Thrones: A Telltale

starting tomorrow. This one is an exciting milestone: with episode 3 of 6 out,

Steam News announces the
release of Etherium,
a science fiction real-time strategy game for Windows: Etherium is a
real-time strategy game set in a science-fiction universe, where three factions
battle it out for a mysterious and rare resource known as ‘Etherium’.
Manage your resources, develop your base, and take command of infantry, tanks,
aircraft, and gigantic colossi of war to battle not only your foes, but weather
anomalies and mysterious secondary factions in richly strategic and original RTS
gameplay. In the single player Conquest mode, develop your technological
capabilities and expand your colonies over the furthest sectors of space,
assembling a formidable armada.
Two new add-on packs are now available on Steam for Total War: ATTILA as
DLC for the real-time strategy game. There's a
Blood and Burning Pack,
which offers gore and vomit, for a premium. Word on that is: "This pack adds
blood-spurt effects, decapitations, limb-lops, disembowelment and more to the
game. Disease-ridden soldiers can even be seen vomiting on the battlefield,
adding to the ghastly realism." There's also a larger
Celts Culture Pack,
described like so: "The Celts Culture Pack brings three new playable factions to
Total War: ATTILA. The Picts, the Caledonians and the Ebdanians may be used in
Single or Multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer battles." Given
the choice of which of these to show off in a new trailer, of course they went
for the puke, so here's
the official Blood & Burning trailer. Continue here to read the full story.
Stardock announces that The Corporate Machine is now available
on Steam, offering the
chance to revisit this real-time strategy game where you can wage bloody battle
in the boardroom. If your memory is fuzzy about the game's 2001 release, here's
a refresher: The Corporate Machine is an economic RTS in which players
must navigate variable labor conditions, consumer preferences, technological
research, and changing markets to drive their opponents out of business. Develop
your facilities, discover new advances, and seize control of the best markets
across six continents in this no-holds-barred game of corporate warfare.
Internet and LAN multiplayer is fully functional for The Corporate Machine, so
challenge up to seven friends to a lively round of corporate warfare and laugh
as they foolishly try to undercut your price without ensuring that their labor
and manufacturing costs were low enough to remain profitable.
Steam now offers Sky
Battles, following a successful Greenlight campaign for this offbeat aerial
combat game. Here's a
trailer and here's word: "Sky Battles features bi-planes and giant titan
bosses like krakens, sea monsters and fire breathing dragons to name a few. It
also includes a multiplayer mode allowing players to engage in online dogfights.
Steam achievements and leader boards have been implemented to complement the
gaming experience. The launch of Sky Battles on Steam will be followed by a
release on other platforms including iOS and Android. Consoles are also being
considered." Continue here to read the full story.

great classics such as DayZ™, Rust™, and Stalker™, Immune takes place in a
dangerous environment following an outbreak of a devastating pandemic leaving

There's a new
State of Customer Experience post on GOG.com where they outline their
approach to customer support. Presumably taking advantage of recent
attention drawn to how Steam requires a forfeiture of rights to a refund upon
installing a game, they highlight how liberal their policies are: In
which we talk about our relationship with you.
Refunds, terms of use, customer support - it's the hot button issue right now
and it's been on our minds as well. We thought this might be a pretty good time
to say a word or two about how we do things, recent changes, and our approach to
your customer experience.
Refunds.
We've got 'em, and here are the basics you might need to know:
You have 30 days, worldwide. Hitting "Buy" doesn't waive your rights.
European Union law states that you should have 14 days to withdraw from a
purchase. That's not a bad deal, but it's not always enough. We think that 30
days is more like it, and that worldwide is just nicer - within that period, we
only consider your purchase final if you've already started to actually download
your game. We want all of our customers to feel that our refund policy is there
to give you a comfortable experience - not that we were forced into having one.
You can still get a refund for technical issues after downloading your
game.
Downloading a game doesn't mean you're on your own, you still have our guarantee
that it works!
If you have your game, but it doesn't work for one of the million reasons that
just happen - we're here to help. We want you to be able to play your game, and
if you can't, there's no reason why you should be stuck with it. We call this
the Money Back Guarantee. If your game doesn't work due to technical issues, and
our support team is unable to help you fix it, we'll offer you a refund - and
two ways to do it. You'll have the choice of a refund in store credit, (this is
almost immediate), or back to your card/PayPal account (if you're okay with
waiting a few days to be cleared by your card or account issuer). You have 30
days to contact us after making your purchase, but there's no rush - your
refund-timer stops ticking once you get in touch.

The
Halo website announces Halo Online, or however you would write that
in Russian, since that's the only territory this PC-exclusive multiplayer Halo
game is currently targeting (thanks
DSOGaming). This does not yet have a release date, and though they do not rule out
the possibility of eventually bringing this westward, they say:
"Theoretically, any expansion outside of Russia would have to go through
region-specific changes to address player expectations." Here's the Q&A on the
game including that tidbit: Q: What type of game is Halo Online?
A: Halo Online is a free multiplayer-only PC experience that we’re launching
as a closed beta test in Russia.
Q: Does Halo Online represent your future plans for the franchise on PC?
A: Halo Online is a learning opportunity for us as we explore ways to
welcome new fans to the “Halo” universe. We’re excited to release a “Halo”
multiplayer-only PC experience tailored for Russian gamers.
Q: When will Halo Online be available?
A: Halo Online is a learning opportunity for us as we explore ways to
welcome new fans to the “Halo” universe. There is no definitive launch date at
this time as we proceed in our closed beta period in Russia.
Q: Are you planning on bringing Halo Online to the Xbox One?
A: Halo Online was built from the ground up specifically for the PC. There
are no plans to bring Halo Online to the Xbox One.
Q: Will gamers in other regions like North America and Europe be able to play
Halo Online?
A: Right now our focus is on learning as much as we can from the closed beta
period in Russia. Theoretically, any expansion outside of Russia would have to
go through region-specific changes to address player expectations.
Q: Are you planning to officially launch this year?
A: Halo Online is a learning opportunity for us as we explore ways to
welcome new fans to the “Halo” universe. There is no definitive launch date at
this time as we proceed in our closed beta period in Russia.
IGN now has release date for Broken Age Act 2 that Double Fine
promised when the second act went gold on
Monday, saying this will come to North America on April 28th and to Europe
the following day. Here's word on the plan: Broken Age Act 2 will be
available on April 28. 2015 in North America and April 29 in Europe. This date
marks not only when you'll be able to continue the adventure you started on PC,
but also when the entire Broken Age game will be available for cross-buy on
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
If you've already bought Broken Age Act 1 on PC, Act 2 will be delivered as a
free download. Likewise, once those dates hit, the game will no longer be split
into "acts," and will only be available as one full experience for
$24.99.
Guru3D has a report about their experiences testing Battlefield Hardline,
which leaves them complaining about how the DRM works in the military shooter
sequel (thanks
GameWatcher). Apparently at this point the game will decide your activation
is no longer valid if you change hardware configurations more often than
allowed. Here's word: Here's what EAs DRM is doing, they don't just
verify the number of PCs you work on slash use, nope .. they dare to monitor
hardware changes now, which I am sure is a privacy breach on many levels. So
once we insert new hardware (CPU / mobo or graphics cards) the hardware id #
hash changes and if that happens a couple of times they are rendering your
activation invalid.
What a bunch of rubbish ....
If this is the future for EA titles then you guys can forget about VGA
performance reviews as EA is rendering that pretty much impossible now. I've now
been waiting for like 3 or 4 hours and we are still locked out of the game. The
only way to solve this would be purchasing another key and setup a secondary
account. This means that if we'd like to make a VGA performance review on
Battelfield Hardline with a card or 20 we'd need to purchase the game three
times.
Kalypso Media announces that development of Dungeons 2 is complete, and
the now-gold strategy sequel is presumably on track for its
previously announced April 24th release date.
Word is: "The Dawn of Terror is nearly upon us and Dungeons 2 has officially
gone gold. The Little Snots of The Underworld have rolled out the red carpet and
The Orcs are brewing an extra few pints of beer in celebration of the splendid
news." They celebrate the news with the release of system specifications: Dungeons

The " Got a beta code?"
link on the Tom Clancy's
Rainbow Six: Siege website has an element not expected from how it is
presented, as even those who do not have codes are provided an opportunity to
sign up for closed beta testing of the upcoming tactical military shooter. The
link leads to this page,
which says: "REDEEM YOUR CLOSED BETA ACCESS CODE, OR SIGN UP TO BE PLACED ON THE
WAITING LIST - You will be notified via email with your status after
registration is complete. A valid Uplay account is required." Thanks

Gearbox Software announces the Claptastic Voyage DLC and Ultimate
Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are now
available on Steam.
Here's word: Handsome Jack’s found something ludicrously powerful within
CL4P-TP’s mind. Never one to turn down more power, Handsome Jack digitizes the
vault hunters and sends them into Claptrap’s mind. The goal is simple: find the
mysterious “H-Source” code and get out of Claptrap’s consciousness without going
insane. In the first full campaign add-on for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel , our
anti-heroes will deal with Claptrap’s personal insecurities, malware, and
digital representations of his crushing loneliness! As bonus content, this pack
also includes Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2, which raises the level cap
and gives your characters 10 new levels plus 10 new skill points to earn!
If you own the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass, DO NOT purchase this
content here as you will be charged again. Game required; sold
separately.
A
Kickstarter update from Tactical Simulations Interactive (TSI) announces
they have closed the fundraiser for Seven Dragon Saga, calling the move a
postponement, and saying they are not giving up on creating an RPG to live up to
the reputation of the "gold box" RPGs they helped create back in the glory days
of SSI (thanks Paul). Here's word on how they intend to proceed from TSI
president David Klein: Over $100,000, and nearly 2,000 backers achieved
and a new direction, discovered.
We’re postponing our Kickstarter campaign. No, TSI is NOT giving up on Seven
Dragon Saga! Quite the contrary. We’ve done some serious reflection and come to
the conclusion that we can’t create the level of RPG today that we know we’ll be
able to create tomorrow.
Given its heritage, SDS needs to set a new standard for the RPG genre. Not a
‘style over substance’ AAA standard. A standard that delivers a fresh,
compelling and truly satisfying RPG experience. SDS deserves no less. And that
goes for you too, our wonderful, loyal supporters.
We launched this campaign at "veteran difficulty" (what some call "a high
funding goal") because wanted to be sure that we would do SDS justice. We knew
there would be a lot of you that remembered the classics or would appreciate our
efforts to build a fresh RPG, but we underestimated how much new content we'd
need to show in the middle of the campaign to engage people that were less
familiar with the older games.
We'd thought we could talk about core mechanics when it is clear that you want
to actually see those mechanics in action. We need to show off more than we had
ready right now. There came a point where it became more tell than show.
We've had incredibly positive results from this Kickstarter. The press
awareness, fan response, and community feedback has been tremendous. We're
taking that feedback and what we've learned to refine our work further. We'll be
coming back as soon as humanly possible, with a better, more refined
Kickstarter, and some code you'll actually be able to play, along with killer
videos and artwork.
Once again, we are extremely grateful for all of your encouragement and support.
We will continue to follow our progress by signing up for our newsletter on our
website: http://www.tsi-games.com/ and
by following us on social media. This way, you can hear about our Kickstarter
re-launch when it happens. And it WILL happen!

- GTA V Console Versus PC Comparison Shots on
HARDOCP. Flamebait of the day.
The forecast calls for rain amid mild temperatures this afternoon, so I am
hopeful this will clear out most, if not all, the remaining snow in the area.
Much of it has cleared itself over the past couple of weeks, but unpaved shady
areas are still snowy, and our front lawn, where I pile the snow after
shoveling, is particularly shady, so there's a pile remaining there that's
easily still three feet deep. It will be *very* nice to be done with that.
