A
Rockstar Games Q&A talks about Grand Theft Auto V, going into
specifics about the first-person viewpoint the new version of the game adds and
Grand Theft Auto Online. A couple of specific questions about the upcoming PC
edition are answered, including a reassurance that players who have exported a
GTA Online character from a last-gen console to a current one will still
also be able to transfer their progress to the PC edition. They also say they
will reveal PC system specifications next week.
Battle.net offers an
update on progress on the Legacy of the Void expansion for StarCraft
II, throwing out some tentative details on what it includes to start paving
the way for plans to beta test this next year. This is pretty filled with
information, though they warn that none of it is set in stone: "We wanted to
give everyone an update on the current state of Legacy of the Void in order to
gather more feedback and work together with everyone in order to prepare better
for the upcoming beta next year. Obviously, nothing is final (even for the beta)
and as you’ll see below, we’re still in a phase of exploration and testing, so
please keep this in mind."
Techland offers a new
video for Dying Light which allows you to "test your survival skills"
as it offers an interactive branching experience where you choose how to
progress through the environment of the upcoming zombie game. Here's word,
including a warning that this is NSFM (not safe for mobile): "All players
looking forward to Dying Light can now get a taste of the zombie-infested
quarantine zone in “Test Your Survival Skills” – an interactive video based on
actual Dying Light gameplay. This non-linear video lets you choose your own path
through a mission that showcases the multitude of possibilities available in the
open world of Dying Light. As a bonus, along the way you can unlock original
artworks and thus discover curious details about in-game mechanics and enemies.
Try multiple playthroughs to see the range of choices and strategies that you
can use, and start to get a grasp on how best to survive the dangers of the
zombie quarantine zone. The interactive video is available in English and
supports French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish subtitles. The
video was made to be interacted with on desktop PCs and is unfortunately not
mobile friendly." Continue here to read the full story.
The
Steam Greenlight campaign for Hatred has returned, not long after it
was ended by Valve, who said at the
time: "Based on what we've seen on Greenlight we would not publish Hatred on
Steam. As such we'll be taking it down." Polish developer Destructive Creations'
announcement of this isometric shooter admitted
its themes are "disturbing," and this sparked controversy from the start. The
Hatred
Steam Community forums are filled with posts about the game's prospects
being of being published, many expressing outrage that it exists, and many other
expressing outrage at attempts to get it quashed. According to Destructive
Creations, they received the following apologetic explanation from Valve's Gabe
Newell: Hi, Jaroslaw.
Yesterday I heard that we were taking Hatred down from Greenlight. Since I
wasn’t up to speed, I asked around internally to find out why we had done that.
It turns out that it wasn’t a good decision, and we’ll be putting Hatred back
up. My apologies to you and your team. Steam is about creating tools for content
creators and customers.
Good luck with your game.

A post on
Facebook by Tomasz Gop confirms preliminary plans for Lords of the Fallen
2, a sequel to CI Games' action/RPG, saying "Możemy potwierdzić, że prace
koncepcyjne nad Lords of the Fallen 2 trwają," which translates to "We can
confirm that the conceptual work of the Lords of the Fallen 2 underway." That
makes this sound quite preliminary, but the post does trail off with "also the,"
and Tomasz follows with a comment which translates to say: "F**k, we forgot about
PvP. Vegeta beat, there will be a LotF2! :(" Thanks

The

Inquisition armor.

The
WildStar website has a look at plan for the first major update coming
next year to Carbine's MMORPG, which is now live for testing on their PTR. They
offer specifics on what this will include, and the following overview of the
quality of life changes it will provide when it officially launches: Over
the past few months we’ve received a lot of feedback about WildStar. Much of it
has focused on the fact that although many of our systems are unique, engaging
and fun, many of them are inaccessible to certain groups of players. At Carbine,
our philosophy has always been "play the way you want to play," and therefore we
have been working very hard to make sure players can experience and enjoy
WildStar's content - regardless of their level or playstyle preference. Along
with these accessibility initiatives, we made a lot of what we call "quality of
life" adjustments, continuing to improve and streamline the overall experience
of WildStar across a variety of different areas. The result? From what players
have said so far, this is our best update yet.
We're one week off from Christmas Eve (where does the time go?). There used to
be the old "X shopping days until Christmas" warning, but I don't know what
qualifies as a shopping day anymore in this modern era, though obviously time is
running short. Things are a bit odd around the BlueTower this year in this
regard, as we settled our holiday shopping a while ago, but reasons to brave the
crowds (like that knife skills class) keep popping up. This hasn't been too
aggravating, and hopefully you are avoiding aggravation as well.
