The
Making History website
now offers playable demos for
Making History: The Great War, Muzzy Lane's
World War I strategy game. There are demos for the Windows and OS X editions,
which can be found on
the game's
website and
on Steam
(thanks Frans). And for those who already own the game, a new patch is now
available which adds a new scenario in addition to fixes and tweak.
This page has the
patch notes (formatted upside down with the new notes at the bottom), and here's
word on the demo and the patch:
Spread the word to all your friends who need to try before they buy -- we have
just released a free demo of TGW ! For those of you already playing you now have
access to a new scenario: "The July Crisis." Set in 1914 just prior to the
Austrian Archduke's fateful ride into Sarajevo, TJC will highlight the difficult
and very different decisions you will make depending on which nation you decide
to play. The demo begins in the same time frame as the full length scenario but
limits the number of turns and only Austria-Hungary is playable.
These are just the biggest features in what is otherwise a huge update including
many fixes, AI improvements and content additions. For a detailed look at what's
new, check out the latest

The
Sledgehammer blog reflects on the launch of
Call of Duty: Advanced
Warfare, discussing plans for the first patch for the military shooter
sequel and addressing questions about dedicated server support (thanks
GameSpot). They defer to Activision's inscrutable statement about dedicated
server support, which says: "Advanced Warfare employs game servers hosted at
data centers globally on all platforms and listen servers as part of our
proprietary matchmaking system. Our goal is to ensure the best possible
connection and greatest gameplay experience regardless of location and time of
day." While you work on interpreting what that actually means, you can also
peruse their plans to patch the game:

Actual email from Twitter this morning: "Blue's News, Some people you may know
on Twitter. Justin Timberlake, KATY PERRY, Kevin Hart." So does that mean they
mailed the three of them this morning suggesting they may know Blue's News? Nah,
I didn't think so.
