The
Borderlands website has details on the first DLC for
Borderlands: The
Pre-Sequel, which will allow players to take on the role Handsome Jack,
using some powers he will apparently lose before the events in Borderlands 2.
Here's word on the pack, which will be released on November 11th:
Starting
on November 11, you’ll be able to pick up the Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack
for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Steam, allowing you to play as the charming head
of the Hyperion Corporation for the first time (or at least someone who looks an
awful lot like him).
Jack has stood by for far too long watching the Vault Hunters go on exciting
adventures, so he’s decided to join in on the fun…sort of. With the Handsome
Jack Doppelganger Pack, you’ll be able to play as everyone’s favorite maniacal
tyrant-in-training, “Jack” the Doppelganger. As “Jack,” you’ll be able to summon
multiple Digi-Jacks, which will join you in battle to mow down enemies and earn
you more sweet, sweet loot.
Depending on how you spec out your Skill Trees, these Digi-Jacks can earn you
bonuses or even get you a Second Wind in Fight For Your Life. “Jack” can also
shoot enemies with wrist lasers, get buffs every time he picks up money (in
typical CEO fashion), or even get upgrades for using guns made by specific
manufacturers.
For those who already picked up the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass, the
Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack is included, but for players that haven’t, it
will also be sold individually for $9.99. The Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season
Pass is available for $29.99 and grants access to all four of the upcoming
add-on content packs as they become commercially available on the PSN, Xbox
Live, Windows PC, Mac and Linux – a $39.96 value! – so, you’re getting four
packs for just about the price of three.
The teams at Gearbox and 2K Australia have been hard at work on downloadable
content since the completion of the game. While the other three packs are still
under development, the current plans are to include another character, a level
cap upgrade, a new campaign, and more!
So, you don’t have to wait long to get the Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack as
it’s coming out in just 10 days. Get ready to take advantage of Handsome Jack’s
good looks and charm, to distract your enemies into submission. Or, just cut
them down to size with your witty banter. Or…just shoot them. That works too.
The
Roberts Space Industries website recaps the first-person shooter module
reveal for
Star Citizen that took place at PAX Australia yesterday.
This video was
shown off at the show, and word is: "Watch the FPS demo from PAX Australia. The
team at Illfonic has been working hard to make FPS combat in the ‘Verse
innovative and immersive. Now you can see the next step in the evolution of Star
Citizen. Aim for the head, shoot for the stars!"

Double Eleven announces
Frozen Synapse Prime is coming this month, with
the
Steam page for the
upcoming remake of the tactical strategy game specifying this is coming on
November 14th. Here's word how this differs from the original and on the
opportunity to vote for new maps this will include:
In Prime, players on
two separate teams plot paths and issue orders to their squad members, creating
a plan on a turn-by-turn basis. They can simulate the plan before committing to
it but players then commit to them fully; this is called “Priming” a turn. Both
plans are then played out on procedural, 3D, destructible and customizable
battlefields and the resulting combat ensues!
Double Eleven have added some brand new features to help players improve their
planning and performance; Prime features new 3D cameras, providing a better
perspective for planning, along with dynamic cinematic replays so players can
re-watch their matches, analyse their planning post-battle and enhance their
strategy for future matches. They’ve also added some brand new playable
tutorials, tailored to the needs of both the seasoned strategy pro and the
tactics novice.
Exclusively for Steam gamers is an entirely new Arena Mode. Arena matches are
designed to challenge both fans and newcomers alike; encouraging players to
change the way they strategize, changing how they combine the strengths of their
units and utilize the surrounding terrain like never before.
Fans of the original Frozen Synapse and newcomers also have an opportunity to
determine some of the new battlefields in Arena Mode. Double Eleven have already
selected a few and are inviting people to head over to
Steam to vote on the
rest.

Boo standard time! Yay extra hour of sleep. There, that about covers my mixed
feelings about the end of daylight saving time around here.
We were invited to watch the
Army/Air Force game at West Point yesterday. The weather was iffy, but it didn't
rain, so bundling up made for a reasonably comfortable experience. It wasn't a very
competitive game, but sprits were high surrounding the rivalry. Also, they performed a dance routine to
Thriller at halftime, which I'm pretty sure
has
never been done before.
