Ships Ahoy - Legend of Grimrock II

The Legend of Grimrock website announces Legend of Grimrock II is now available, showing where the RPG sequel can be found on this page, where they are offering a 10% launch discount. Here's the description of the game:

Legend of Grimrock 2 is a dungeon crawling role playing game with a modern execution but an oldschool heart. A group of four prisoners have shipwrecked on the secluded Isle of Nex. The island is filled with ancient crumbled ruins, mysterious shrines and a vast underground network of dungeons and mines. If the prisoners wish to make it out alive, they have to overcome the challenges devised by the ominous mastermind of the island.

Powers of perception and logic are more important than sheer force is, since Legend of Grimrock 2 puts a heavy emphasis on exploration, survival and challenging puzzles. Discover powerful ancient artifacts from hidden secret chambers and buried treasures. Arm your champions, cast spells and craft enchanted potions and bombs to aid you in fighting the dreadful monsters in highly tactical real-time combat.

Design, share and play custom scenarios with the included Dungeon Editor! Create your own adventures and fill them with puzzles, traps, or even totally new items, monsters and environments with custom graphics and audio!

Get ready to venture forth and uncover the secrets of Nex!

Star Citizen @ $58M

There's a new Letter from the Chairman on the Roberts Space Industries website celebrating Star Citizen surpassing the $57 and $58 million funding plateaus. We recently mentioned that pledges from CitzenCon had put the $58M goal in reach, and true to that, their goals page shows they are already around a third of the way to the $59 million mark. The new letter updates us on stretch goals, offers a poll for backers, and points the way to their Drake Cutlass Commercial... in 3D and a Foundry 42 Ship Update Video. Thanks 88fingers. Saints Row: Gat out of Hell Trailer

a new trailer from Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, showing off the "Seven Deadly Weapons" in the upcoming standalone Saints Row IV expansion. They also announce this is now expected on January 20, 2015, a week earlier than originally announced. They also make reference to a PC edition of Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, which was previously mentioned only as a next-gen console game. Here's the slightly confusing explanation:

Deep Silver Volition knows all too well the Seven Deadly Sins: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. For Johnny Gat in Deep Silver Volition's Saints Row®: Gat out of Hell standalone expansion, the seven deadly weapons represent a means to devilish fun on his rampage through Hell. Can the Devil and his demonic allegiance withstand the persuasiveness of Johnny's unrighteous arsenal? Have a look at this new video featuring the seven deadly weapons and check out a description of the weapons below (don't be shy, curiosity is not a sin): http://youtu.be/z0rHaIeuiMY

In addition to the trailer release, Deep Silver today announced that Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Saints Row IV: Re-Elected will launch on January 20, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for the software bundle, and PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC for retail standalone Gat out of Hell. Two different pre-order offers were also announce -- Purchase the new gen bundle for $49.99 with retailers such as Amazon, and receive two special DLC packs outlined below, or get the Gat out of Hell specific DLC when pre-ordering it as a standalone game for only $19.99.

Out of the Blue

As a Mets fan I tend to stop paying attention to baseball when the team is out of the playoff hunt, which is usually late April. The playoffs have actually caught my interest this year, however, as almost two out of every three games in the postseason have been decided by one run. Baseball can be exciting in its own way when it's played well. Someone should force the Mets management to watch to remind them of that fact.
