Battle.net announces the first season is now live in Diablo III, offering
the chance to compete for the best times in leveling up a newly rolled
character.
This page has
details on exactly how this works.
IncGamers notes that this has already inspired some unhappiness from players
who've discovered just how quickly this can be done by gaming the system (which
is a game after all), as the first level 70 character appeared under two hours
after the season began. They say the issues that allow this were noted during
the extended beta testing of version 2.1.0 of the action/RPG sequel, so this may
be working as intended.
This
Steam community update announces that the Early Access edition of
Dead State is now
officially in the beta phase, though developer DoubleBear Productions feels
compelled to remind everyone the role-playing game is still not a finished
product (thanks Acleacius). They outline known issues as well as features they
still plan on adding, and invite feedback to help make a better game. Here's
word:
First, we want to remind everyone that the Beta is not the full
game. While the Beta includes tons of new content and features, there are also
content and features still missing, and most of those that are in the Beta still
need balancing and optimization. There are also still going to be a host of bugs
and technical issues that we’re still actively fixing behind the scenes. Similar
to other prominent recent betas on Steam (Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity,
Divinity), Dead State’s Beta doesn’t include all the final story, dialogues, or
levels, but it’s sure got enough to keep you busy for quite some time! The idea
behind the open beta is to expose as much content to you as we possibly can and
get your feedback on both design and technical issues before we move on to the
final release.
As I mentioned yesterday, this is the Labor Day weekend here in the U.S., which
traditionally involves all manner of cooking out and related activities. I have
some sausages to fire up later today, but I'm thinking of doing something more
elaborate tomorrow... I just can't decide if I want to do something
tried-and-true like ribs, or something out of my comfort zone... trouble is
something like a brisket or a pork shoulder would result in a mountain of food
and with no company to serve, this could result in waste, gluttony, or both.
