The
Unreal Engine website announces Bierzerkers, an Unreal 4 engine,
team-based, multiplayer, melee combat game set in the Viking afterlife. The game
is in development at Shield Break Studios,
and while they are not set to reveal a release date, they do plan on showing the
game off at PAX Prime, which kicks off next week in Seattle. Here's word:
Players will do battle using a variety of unique classes with stylized
Norse visuals, arcade-inspired melee combat, and fierce online competition.
"With Bierzerkers, we're creating a unique blend of hack n' slash action
inspired by our favorite melee combat games. We're throwing realism out the
window and focusing on a fun and irreverent style that seeps into every aspect
of the game," says Will Harris, lead designer. "In Bierzerkers, you will crush
your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their
sheep."

The
Legend of Grimrock website announces Legend of Grimrock 2 is
officially in beta status, adding this is a closed beta, and they are not
accepting applications at this time. Almost Human Games also announce plans for
an iOS version of the original Legend of Grimrock for those who enjoy their
role-playing on the road. They celebrate news of the LoG2 beta with a
new teaser trailer
from the action/RPG sequel. Here's a bit: The game has been playable from
the beginning to the end for some time now and now that we have had one complete
playthrough and several cheated speed-throughs we have some idea about the
length of the game. It’s looking like Grimrock 2 is going to be around 25%
longer than Grimrock 1 but more testing by us and our betatesters is still
needed to confirm this.
Like mentioned, all the features of the game are in, but there’s still much work
to do. Our Venerable List of Things To Do is constantly getting added with new
entries even as we are hammering on the things at the other end of the list. But
we are fighting hard to empty the list before the launch. Btw. on top of the
list we have things like memory and performance optimizations and tutorial.
Below that lots and lots of smaller tweaks and fixes and then of course testing,
testing and more testing… Continue here to read the full story.
