There are widespread complains from Street Fighter IV players of network issues
with the newly launched PC edition of
Ultra Street Fighter IV,
reported on Kotaku, where they note that these stretch back to Super Street
Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, the second of the three releases of this fighting
game. They say that "Capcom is finally on the case," saying they received the
following response to a query about the issues:
We are aware of the online
connectivity issues with the PC version of the game and are working to get them
addressed as quickly as possible. We are also regularly monitoring forums for
user feedback and will continue to keep an eye on any major issues.
The
Roberts Space Industries website announces that they've expanded the
Arena Commander multiplayer module for
Star Citizen with a
CTF-inspired Capture the Core mode. Word is: "This mode is very objective based,
and players will do best to focus on protecting their core, escorting their-core
carriers, and taking down anyone who has stolen their core. When choosing a
ship, it is not only toughness one should keep in mind, but a ship’s respective
speed. Different ships can serve different roles." Thanks

While some owners of
Metro: Last Light and
Metro 2033 feel they
should be entitled to a free upgrade to the spiffed up
Metro Redux remake, 4A Games feels
offering owners of the original games a 50% discount on the remade bundle is
"more than fair," offering those who think otherwise the option of not buying
Redux (thanks
GameSpot). Here's a bit:
For sure, Metro 2033 Redux is a far more
significant upgrade over the original than Metro: Last Light Redux (and we're
not trying to pretend otherwise).
We think the 50% discount is more than fair for the amount of work that has gone
into this title. It is a complete remake of the original game in the latest
engine, that will offer a significantly different experience from the original
throughout with improved graphics, performance and gameplay.
Metro: Last Light Redux, we will readily admit, does not represent as
significant a change over the original. So why the same 50% discount and not
more? Why not just patch the game?
The latter proved to be impossible for a technical reason. Because of the
changes to the engine, which necessitated dropping 32-bit support; we literally
could not 'patch' the game.
In fact, both Redux games will exist as new titles in your Steam libraries, and
the originals will still be there.
So why ‘only’ a 50% discount, the same as 2033?
We felt that because the Redux version also included the DLC in addition to the
new game mode and enhancements, that was also a fair price.

So we have one of those supermoons going at the moment, which is coinciding with
the start of the Perseids meteor showers. This is an interesting coincidence,
though not beneficial to stargazers, as the brighter moon will make the bright
meteors harder to see. The BlueTower is too close to New York City to have
great conditions to see such things, though it's a lot better than you might
imagine, considering how bright it is in the city that never sleeps.
