Ubisoft announces a
Video Gamer Night to be held on September 7th in San Francisco as part of
the S.F. Giants baseball game that evening. The video game part of this is one
of the more unusual such promotions we can recall, as it offers a limited
edition baseball-themed
Assassin's Creed action figure, an invite to a
pre-game party where you can rub elbows with Todd McFarlane (who created the
figure), and participation in a Q&A session with the Assassin's Creed Unity
developers.

adventure coming to Windows, OS X, and PlayStation 4 early next year.
The
Toren website is online, which
is Portuguese, but an
English

Steam forums announce that Codemasters is offering refunds for customers who
purchased the recently released
Colin McRae Rally
on Steam who
are unhappy with this Windows and OS X port of the Colin
McRae Rally game released last year for mobile devices (thanks nin via
Kotaku). The game's description now more clearly explains this, and they
will accommodate those who feel they were misled by the previous description:
At Codemasters, we care about our customers and pride ourselves on
listening to our community.
We understand that some people who bought Colin McRae Rally on Steam are upset
and feel that it isn’t the game they thought it would be. We have now updated
the product description
for clarification.
Furthermore, as an act of good faith, we have worked with Valve to enable anyone
that bought the game to claim a refund. The ability to refund will be available
until the 19th August.
To process a refund, please go to your account transactions page and you will
see a “Refund” button for Colin McRae Rally. We hope this goes some way to
restoring any lost faith and thank you as always, for your continued
support.

There are no sweeping changes to report, though maybe we're just not trying hard
enough or we could draw a conclusion like

Linux Today.
I am going to beg your indulgence for a day or so, as I have plans for what
amounts to a vacation, which will run almost a full day. I plan to head off in a
bit to watch some canoe racing and meet up with some dear old friends from my
childhood days at summer camp, which has become an annual reunion. This will
lead to dinner, and perhaps a few oat sodas, so I plan on catching up tomorrow
morning on news from later today. This will be complicated by the fact an
appointment is scheduled for tomorrow to rewire the BlueTower that will knock
everything offline for a while, so there's a slight possibility that my plan to
catch up in the morning will get pushed into the afternoon. But my goal is to
update before the outage hits, and I'm pretty sure I'll accomplish that. So
subject to change, that's the plan. Thanks!
