tweets that their plans for Grim Fandango include a roadmap to bring
their remastered version of the critically acclaimed game that
Wikipedia says derailed
the adventure genre to Windows, Linux, and OS X: "Reap your heart out! We're

Train Simulator developer Dovetail Games
announces they've licensed Flight Simulator X from Microsoft, and plan
on bringing the venerable program to Steam later this year in a special
edition for Valve's service. They also somewhat vaguely say: "The company is
currently investigating new concepts in this area and is expecting to bring a
release to market in 2015." Here's word on the Steam edition: Microsoft
Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition will include the Deluxe Edition and the
Acceleration Expansion Pack in one bundle. Dovetail Games will bring Microsoft
Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition to the Steam online gaming platform for the
first time in late 2014.
SEGA announces the preorder bonus for Alien Isolation will be a free
upgrade to the Nostromo Edition, which includes bonus content called Crew
Expendable, which features the voices of the cast of Alien (except for Ian
Holm).
This trailer shows off what this is about, and here's word on what this all
adds to Creative Assembly's survival/horror game: Anyone who pre-orders
the game will get a free upgrade to the Nostromo Edition, which includes the
bonus content “Crew Expendable”. Players can choose to play as one of three
surviving crewmembers, only moments after Brett’s death at the jaws of the
creature. As Ellen Ripley, Dallas or Parker, players can explore the Nostromo
from habitation deck down through engineering, coordinating their efforts with
Lambert and Ash to lure the Alien into the ship’s airlock.
In addition, consumers who pre-order at GameStop will exclusively also receive
“Last Survivor” in which players pick up the story as Ripley tries to escape on
the Narcissus. On hearing the screams of Lambert and Parker, players must
navigate their way back down through the Nostromo in order to activate the
self-destruct sequence, before retracing their steps back to the Narcissus
shuttle and their escape.

Kickstarter update for Project Eternity has details on some of the creatures
who will populate Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming RPG (thanks nin). This also
includes an update schedule with word on the push to complete the game that will
include a beta for backers on August 18th. Here's the deal: Update

Hey, everyone. Brandon here. With production moving into the finalization phase
for Eternity, the team and I are hunkering down to finish up the game over the
next few months. Going forward, we will be spacing out our backer updates a bit
more from now until the project ships. They’ll come a bit less predictably, but
you can still expect updates as we have big announcements or special news for
you. This will really help us focus as much of our efforts into putting out the
best game we possibly can for everyone.
In our next big update, we will discuss the upcoming Backer Beta in more detail
as well as what it will entail and how to redeem your copy.

We will be releasing our Backer Beta on August 18th. As we mentioned above, we
will get into all of the specifics about the Backer Beta in our next update. Be
on the lookout for it over the next month.
Capcom Unity has word that Lost Planet 3 will be updated tomorrow to
complete the game's migration to Steam for multiplayer after
Glu killed GameSpy support. They
offer complete instructions for PS3 users on how to import their save data to
the Steam cloud, and the following word for PC users, including how the
leaderboards will be reset: As
previously mentioned, the migration of the online service for Lost
Planet 3 (PC Version) is nearing completion, and a downloadable update is
scheduled to go live on STEAM this Thursday, July 10th at 1:00am PT. The
migration to a new server will unfortunately reset MULTIPLAYER leaderboards and
the CINEMATIC GALLERY. CAMPAIGN difficulty will also default to Normal
difficulty.
Please note that Item Sphere related achievements for which the unlock
conditions have already been met in the current save data, will be unlocked upon
importing the save data to Steam Cloud and accessing the Item Sphere. Campaign
related achievements, including those related to difficulty will need to be
acquired by replaying through the campaign. We apologize for any
inconvenience.
The United States Patent and Trademark office
Trademark Electronic Search System reveals something interesting about
Battleborn, showing that the trademark for Gearbox Software's
just-announced "hero
shooter"/ not
a MOBA is not actually registered to Gearbox, but to Necromonger, LLC, a
company located at the same Plano, TX address as Gearbox. We got in touch with
Gearbox to learn if this revealed some cool spin-off label, but it turns out
this is just a holding company, and doesn't represent any changes. Gearbox's
Steve Gibson points out, for example, that
Borderlands was originally registered to Iperion, LLC. Thanks Kristian.
EA announces Battlefield 4 Battlefest, a month-long event for Battlefield
4 players that will include weekly rewards, contests, and in-game content,
saying: "It’s a fun way to give back to our community and say thanks, while
doing some cool things in the game. Not to mention, there will be tons of
prizes, including graphics cards and three gaming PCs, provided by AMD." They
are kicking things off with a double XP weekend. Here's word: To get
Battlefest started, we’re giving everyone a weekend of double XP from July
12-13, so if you need to level up your game, now is a good time to start or get
back into the game. The 12th also marks the first day of our daily contest
(called Battleshots), where we’re asking you to send us a screenshot in
Battlefield 4 based on a different theme requirement. Each daily winning entry
will receive an AMD graphics card, $50 gift card to the DICE Store, and a
Battlefield 4 Premium membership on their platform of choice. We’re excited to
see what you send in and will be altering the screenshot theme request daily
until August 13 for more chances to win.

Publisher Kasedo Games announces Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons, a sci-fi
real-time tactics game from indie developer Camel 101 that's coming to Windows,
Linux, and OS X by the end of this year.
This trailer offers a
look, and here's word on what to expect: Take command of the Black Talons
company, a fearless mercenary unit currently stationed in the Oberon system
providing needed military support in a galaxy torn apart by ruthless dictators
and power-hungry warlords. The Black Talons provide everything from specialist
squads and supplies, to entire armies, bases – and even powerful mechs of
warfare. This comes at a price, of course – but in a universe controlled by the
corrupt, is it enough to stand by and watch while great cities burn to the
ground and whole civilisations are destroyed all in the name of
conquest?

Fortress 2 website announces the release of a new beta version of Team
Fortress 2, which includes the opportunity to beta test a couple of new Mann
Co. maps. This post
has further details on how to participate in the testing: Now is your
chance to boss around the little guy as you stand on the ground floor of cutting
edge environment construction!
We need volunteers that are capable of putting these spaces through the wringer.
We want to make sure they stand the test of time for future generations of
mercenaries, so they may also enjoy the simple things in life, such as

Developer Forged Chaos has released a new
combat demo video with
a look at a work-in-progress look at Trials of Ascension, the crowd-funded sandbox MMORPG. They
explain like so: "The video showcases the combat system of Trials of Ascension,
including their unique multi-motion action system. The video also updates their

In a triumphant moment we got a window to open in our bathroom that was painted
shut a few years ago, which was making it difficult to get it properly dried out
after showering. The bad news is that it now seems to be stuck open, and since
it turns out there is no screen behind it, this has served as an open invitation
to all sorts of insects to come visiting, so the bathroom is quarantined until
we can get the window closed or we can import enough spiders to restore nature's
balance in there.
