Deep Silver announces the Saints Row IV National Treasure Edition, an
upcoming bundle of Saints Row IV and all the DLC for the open world action
sequel coming this summer to Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 via digital
distribution. This will come at the bargain price of $29.99, though it bears
noting that the Saints Row
Ultimate Franchise Pack on Steam has almost the same content along with the
previous two Saints Row games for considerably less than that until tomorrow as part of the Steam Summer Sale.
Here's word: Included in the National Treasure Edition will be the
entirety of the Saints Row IV add-on content catalogue totaling a whopping 29
separate DLC items and content packs totaling more than $60 dollars in value.
Also included is the fabulous Grass Roots ‘Merica! gun, which functions
similarly to the completely insane and otherwise totally bad ass multi-use
weapon previously only available in the Commander In Chief Edition. The National
Treasure Edition Grass Roots ‘Merica is a weapon with unmeasurable freedom
containing: a light machine gun, a sub machine gun, an auto shotgun, heavy
pistol, a minigun, a rocket launcher, a flamethrower and a huge combat knife all
in one gun. MERICA!
The full list of the 29 DLC items and content included in the Saints Row IV
National Treasure Edition can be found at

Polygon - I won't buy Battlefield Hardline at launch, and neither should you.
It's hard to tell them apart, isn't it? Battlefield games are going to
launch with the same issues, it's going to take a while to fix them and the
same excuses will be trotted out as an explanation. Keep in mind that
article, with those quotes, was written before EA and DICE dropped the ball
for months on the Battlefield 4 launch. The series had a terrible track
record even before Battlefield 4 fell as it left the gate.
To say that these problems now come as a surprise, or that any of the
companies involved don't see them coming, is folly. It's become impossible
to pretend that this isn't a trend, or to become hopeful the problems will
go away.

Though Crytek refuted rumors that
emerged over the weekend
that the company is on the brink of bankruptcy,
Kotaku has rumors of their own of troubles at the German developer, claiming
these are based on information from current and former Crytek employees. This
includes accounts of late paychecks (which have not prevented co-founders Cevat
and Avni Yerli from allegedly continuing to drive their Ferraris to work); staff
departures; the cancellation of a couple of projects including Ryse 2;
and word of rampant staff dissatisfaction with the direction of the company.
They conclude reporting not receiving responses from Crytek to questions raised
in the story, in spite of recent assurances they would get the other side of the
story, and say Avni Yerli has allegedly told staff not to talk with the press
about what's going on.

a new PC launch trailer
and word on the release: PopCap Games, a division of Electronic Arts Inc.
(NASDAQ:EA), today launched Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare for PC on Origin
and other retailers worldwide. Since its wildly successful launch earlier this
year on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft
and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, players have joined in the
trenches to vanquish more than 400 million plants and zombies. Critics worldwide
have praised Garden Warfare, with Gaming Trend calling the game, “entertaining,
accessible, and oozing with charm.”
“Fan reaction to Garden Warfare has been nothing short of amazing. We are
humbled to see how our fans have embraced the game, and we’re very excited that
PC players can now join in on the fun”
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare for PC will contain an all-new co-op and
multiplayer map called Jewel Junction. In addition, players will get the chance
to play all the latest free game content including the Garden Variety Pack and
Zomboss Down, a Wild West themed update with eight new playable characters, more
than 200 wild customizations, and the Cactus Canyon Map.
“Fan reaction to Garden Warfare has been nothing short of amazing. We are
humbled to see how our fans have embraced the game, and we’re very excited that
PC players can now join in on the fun,” said Brian Lindley, Producer on Plants
vs. Zombies Garden Warfare.
In Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, players choose a side and square off in
riotous, punishing combat against their plant or zombie opponents, utilizing an
arsenal of outrageous weaponry. Beloved character favorites from the franchise
including the Sunflower and Chomper reprise their roles, and the game tops it
off with a new cast of zany characters such as Ice Cactus and All-Star Zombie.
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare features four distinct gameplay modes

DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson
talks with Eurogamer about the future of the Battlefield: Bad Company
series, as there are voices clamoring for a return to that sub-franchise,
in contrast to the announcement of Battlefield Hardline. "Well you'll
have to wait and see," Troedsson said when asked if the Bad Company series would
return. "The Bad Company sub brand is something we hold very near and dear.
We'll take that into account when we think about the future." Strangely, he
admits one of the reasons for being cagy about this is because they can't
actually pin down what it is people liked about the first two Bad Companies:
"Some people say they found the multiplayer controls faster and more
direct," he said. "Some people liked the single-player and the characters and
the humour. People love different things about it. It's starting to almost get
to that place where, if we were to make a sequel to Bad Company, what would than
even imply?"
He continued: "It's scary to go back and try to remake an old fan favourite when
actually no-one can really put their finger on what it is people love. Bringing
back the characters and creating a great single-player out of that, sure, I can
understand that.
"But some people say this: the Bad Company 2 multiplayer is the best you've ever
done. Okay, why is that? It's hard for people to articulate what that is, which
is actually hard for us. It would be hard to remake something like that. Can we
do it? Of course. We have our theories when it comes to the
multiplayer."
Found some fancy steaks at the supermarket marked down from $19.99/lb to $6.99
because they were close to the sell-by date. They came out so great that I have
to marvel at the bargain these two little six-ouncers, represented, as they
ended up forming a steak dinner for $2.65 a serving... a great lesson in bargain
hunting, as well as the benefits of home-cooking, as that's comparable to the
price of a crappy burger at a fast-food place.
