A teaser trailer from
Lionhead Studios reveals that Fable Anniversary is coming to PCs. They are
still pretty tightlipped about it, as here's all they are saying for now: "Since
launching Fable Anniversary on Xbox 360, we've been inundated with requests to
bring the game to PC..." The clip does show some chickens, indicate the
game is coming to steam, and demonstrate that everybody who requested this port
uses a cool mechanical cherry keyboard. Thanks

Seaven Studio announces Inside My Radio,
a rhythm-action platformer game based on a project that won a couple of prizes
at Ludum Dare#23. The game has a "when it's done" release date for PCs and
consoles, and there may be an associated Kickstarter this summer. Here's an
announcement trailer,
and here's word: Inside My Radio is a rhythm-action platformer game where
you start as a little green guy living inside a broken boombox. During your
quest to fix it, you journey through different musical worlds where all the
actions you perform must be synchronized with the beat of the astonishing music.
Inside My Radio was first made by TurboDindon during Ludum Dare#23 where it won
both the Overall and Audio prizes in the Jam category and came in second in both
Coolness and Innovation. Today, Seaven Studio and TurboDindon are teaming up to
bring a bigger, better and more polished experience of Inside My Radio! Continue here to read the full story.
There's a
giant thread on the Ubisoft forums discussing a save game bug in Watch
Dogs, where players get endlessly stuck waiting for a saved game to load.
This does not seem to be a few isolated incidents, because as of now there are
1,742 comments, but no concrete answer on what's causing the problem or when a
fix is expected (thanks
Kotaku Australia). Here's the originating post: Was messing around in
between missions and noticed that I could not get the uplay stealth car sent to
me even though I had used it earlier / had it unlocked in the uplay store.
Logged out to check the uplay store (only to find out it was ubisoft service
being down) and when I tried to load my game up again, it keeps stopping at like
90% complete on the load... Waited several minutes with the loading screen (went
and got a drink), came back and it's still the same. Tried closing the game and
reloading it, still the same problem. Is it because of the problems with uplay
or did I find one of the fun game breaking bugs? ...
Legend of Grimrock blog announces that Legend of Grimrock 2 has
sneakily entered alpha, in spite of not being a stealth game. Here's word: We
sneakily went past a very important milestone just a while ago. Legend of
Grimrock 2 is now in alpha! The definition of milestones of course varies from
one company to the next but I think our alpha is, relatively speaking, a “strong
alpha” (since we don’t have any publishers or investors who we have to deliver
to to get money for progressing in development, we can use terms that are
actually useful and descriptive ;) ). Alpha in our case means that the game can
be completely played from beginning to the very end and that all the planned
features exist. The last missing piece from the alpha we had was the ending of
the game but now that we got that done, the deal is sealed. :) Of course at
alpha, there are still features and content that lack polish and refinement, and
balance and progression of the game is not complete, but in a sense the game is
now “whole”! To celebrate the milestone, we have a new screenshot for you… The
herders are back!

Deep Silver and Crytek announce Homefront: The Revolution, an open-world
first-person shooter sequel to Homefront coming to Windows, OS X, Linux, Xbox
One, and PlayStation 4. The game continues the Korean invasion of the U.S. of
the original with a guerrilla war set in the streets of Philadelphia. We have
some
screenshots and logos and
the launch trailer,
and the game's official website is
online. Here's the announcement with all the details: Homefront: The Revolution
throws players into a near future dystopia. Catastrophic events have brought the
United States to its knees and enabled the Korean People's Army forces to impose
a brutal military occupation. Trapped in this American nightmare, Philadelphia
has become a police state, where surveillance drones and armored patrols keep
her once-proud citizens at heel, crushing any dissent with totalitarian force.
To overcome their oppressors, players will have to engage in guerrilla warfare
and use ambush, infiltration and hit and run tactics in thrilling un-scripted
firefights. At every turn they'll find a sprawling open-world city, in which
recruiting fellow revolutionaries and building improvised homebrew weapons are
just two of the keys to creating a powerful resistance force.
The Resistance flourishes far beyond the single player. Homefront: The
Revolution supports up to four players in online Co-Op gameplay where you form
your own resistance cell and become renowned as Heroes of the Revolution.
"Homefront: The Revolution stands out from the crowd by immersing players in a
world where they'll feel emotionally compelled to fight for their freedom," said
Hasit Zala, Game Director at Crytek. "We're very excited to work with Deep
Silver and deliver an experience that underlines Crytek's commitment to quality
whilst tapping into the huge potential we saw when we first acquired the
Homefront IP."
Homefront: The Revolution represents the first time Crytek and Deep Silver have
worked together, with the two partners collaborating to release the game as part
of a co-publishing agreement.
"Crytek has an outstanding track record of creating AAA action games. Homefront
is a fascinating IP with huge global potential. With Crytek`s technical pedigree
and Deep Silver´s publishing expertise, we will take the IP to new heights,"
said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver / Koch Media.
Developed by Crytek's Nottingham studio, Homefront: The Revolution harnesses the
latest features of Crytek's CRYENGINE technology. On the ground, players will
encounter a dynamic environment that looks and feels truly alive as day turns to
night and storm clouds come and go - an authenticity that extends to the
strikingly lifelike expressions, skin and clothing of everyone they encounter.

Indie developer Deceptive Games announces Kidnapped, a survival/horror game where the

Rebellion's Facebook
page has a weird tease warning gamers not to buy Sniper Elite V2 on
Steam this week, implying a payoff will follow. Word is: "We'd advise against
buying Sniper Elite V2 on Steam in the next few days, but we WOULD advise
scoping out potential snipers to play with ... news soon!" Word is this news
will not centre on the imminent release of Sniper Elite 3 on June 27th.
Watch Dogs is top dog on the new
GFK Chart-Track full price PC entertainment chart for the week ending May
31st, pushing the new Wolfenstein game down to number three. Ubisoft's
open-world hacking game is also leader of the pack on the
all platforms/all prices chart where Mario Kart 8 crosses the finish
line at number two. Here's
their summary of all the activity: Ubisoft take their second All
Formats No1 of the year, and smash the week 1 sales record for new IP in the
process as event title ‘Watch Dogs’ takes the crown.
It eclipses the new IP record set by ‘L.A Noire’ three years ago with an
increase of 58%. In terms of units, ‘Watch Dogs’ breaks into the Top 20 for best
ever launch weeks taking 17th spot on the list. The new release finds itself in
good company with only titles from mega-brands GTA, Call of Duty, FIFA &
Battlefield ahead of it. For Ubisoft it’s also a personal best with ‘Watch Dogs’
beating ‘Assassin’s Creed III’ as their biggest launch in the UK by 17%. By
format PS4 dominates software sales, boosted by exclusive content and the
release of a new Watch Dogs hardware bundle. This accounts for just over 53% of
PS4 hardware sales while claiming the credit for a near 94% increase in total
sales for the PS4 hardware format this week.
While there is no contest for top spot Wii U exclusive ‘Mario Kart 8’ races
comfortably into second place. The much loved series makes an impressive debut
becoming the bestselling week 1 for any Wii U title since launch and the second
best in the Mario Kart series ever. ‘Mario Kart 8’ like ‘Watch Dogs’ also
launches an official hardware bundle this week boosting the sales of Wii U
hardware by a whopping 666%, of which 82% are the Mario Kart 8 Bundle. Last
week’s No1 ‘Wolfenstein: The New Order’ (-65%) makes way for the newcomers,
dropping down to round off the Top 3. With half term in full swing many titles
benefit from increased sales. ‘FIFA 14’ (+46%) is at No4 while ‘Minecraft: PS3
Edition’ (+20%) continues to sell strongly despite dropping to No5. Outside the
Top 10 there’s a re-entry for ‘Borderlands 2’ which is propelled back into the
chart at No18 thanks to the release of the new PS Vita version.
I've spent a lot of time in the great outdoors for a city boy. I went to
sleep-away camp every summer of my youth, visited cousins in western New York,
spent countless weekends at a farm upstate, and have lived the last 14 years in
a woodsy suburb. But with all that, I have had one single tick bite in my life prior to
now, without ever taking any particular efforts to prevent them. I've never really
given this that much thought, but I had to pull two ticks off of me after this
weekend's lawn care extravaganza, and found another crawling on my neck before
he could locate my jugular, so I wonder if there's a reason my seeming
invisibility failed me this weekend, which managed to triple my lifetime tick
count.
