The
Bethesda Blog announces the launch of The Elder Scrolls Online, saying the
game is available for purchase from
The Elder Scrolls Online Store for Windows and OS X. "We are grateful for
the overwhelming response to The Elder Scrolls Online," said Game Director Matt
Firor. "With 5 million people registered for beta, it’s clear that a large
number of fans are eager to jump online and experience everything the game has
to offer. We couldn’t be more excited to get it into everyone’s hands." A
new "Siege" cinematic
trailer celebrates the news, and here's word, which concludes with plans for
console releases down the road: Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media
company, today announced that The Elder Scrolls Online is now
available for PC and Mac at retailers worldwide and on the official online
store. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online
is the latest chapter in the award-winning franchise and brings the

Battle.net announces that alpha testing is now underway for the upcoming
Warlords of Draenor expansion for World of Warcraft, Blizzard's
MMORPG. They offer a technical discussion of a new proprietary file
format they are introducing, outline how to sign up to be a beta tester, and
remind users how to keep their accounts more secure. Here's what they say about
testing the new addon: We’ve been hard at work on World of Warcraft®:
Warlords of Draenor™, and today we’ve entered the Alpha phase of our expansion
testing. As part of this, we’ll begin using public servers to host the data,
which means you may begin seeing some datamined information show up in the usual
places.
One of our goals for this very early stage of the Alpha is to test out some new
technology in the wild with employees and friends and family, including a new
file format called CASC (more on that below). As such, the expansion content
available during this first phase will be quite limited—many of the expansion’s
major features, such as Garrisons, won’t be available until a later point in the
testing process. This early phase of testing will help us ramp up for our larger
beta phase later on, when we’ll be inviting more players.

murder, but he’s not the only one... other forces in Fabletown will stop at
nothing to protect their interests.
Check out this trailer for a little taste of what's to come! A word of warning
though: this video contains huge spoilers for Episodes 1 and 2. If you've yet to
catch up with the season so far, definitely do that before watching the trailer

A new DOOM Beta FAQ on the
Wolfenstein: The New Order website has details on how those who preorder
Wolfenstein: The New Order can get in on beta testing of id Software's next
installment in DOOM, their seminal FPS series. They say beta keys will be
included with the new Wolf game on May 20th, but refer to "once it begins" as
when to expect the beta to begin. They add that the DOOM Beta will only be
available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and say it is not certain whether
DOOM will also have an open beta. Thanks

A new
Kickstarter seeks $80,000 in funding to complete Popup Dungeon, a
procedurally generated roguelike-like that will offer players unprecedented
control over the environment. Here's more on how this will work: "Popup Dungeon
is a procedurally generated roguelike with several inspired twists. The first
is that you can make anything and the system will balance it. Want nyancat's
face on bullwinkle's body wielding a tommy gun that shoots ice beams? It can all
be made through their system. The second is the unique art style, creating the a
game for PC that feels like it took a dungeon master a long time, a lot of
cutting, and several reams of cardstock to create." Continue here to read the full story.
Sorry to hear
David
Letterman is retiring... He's always been a favorite of mine, as I still
get a kick out of his curmudgeonly wackiness, and I will miss him. I'll never
understand how Jay beat him over all those years, but in my opinion, he was
always the winner of the late night wars, even if the ratings didn't show it.
And now, here are some links, as always, compiled in our home office in Wahoo,
