Here's word on what this brings to the military shooter sequel: "Following the events of Nightfall, the Quick Reaction Force team has been sent in to investigate a high-tech ghost ship adrift in the South Pacific. Roberts: We Won't Sell Star Citizen

A new episode of 10 for the Chairman on the Roberts Space Industries website answers further questions about development of Star Citizen, RSI's upcoming space combat remake. Also, there's more to the $41 Million funding announcement that we noted last night where Chris explains that they have no intention of selling out to a bigger company and disappointing their backers like some crowd-funded projects have:

Now to answer the myriad forum threads that popped up worrying about the possibility of Cloud Imperium being acquired by another, bigger company – don’t worry! We have no plans nor interest in following this path! We don’t need to go to anyone with deep pockets to make OUR dream a reality. To mass-produce hardware like the Rift, you need an outlay of hundreds of millions of dollars. Luckily our ships are digital so we have hardly any cost of goods, just the cost of developing the universe of Star Citizen and running servers that Star Citizen’s universe will be simulated on. Thanks to the generosity of the Star Citizen community we have these two things covered

And last but not least I’m having way to much fun building the universe of my dreams for everyone to adventure in! I’ve been down the big company acquisition route twice before and there’s a reason I am making Star Citizen totally independently!

Caffeine Trailer; Crowdfunding

This trailer offers a look at the Unreal Engine 4 version of Caffeine, celebrating the launch of the Indiegogo campaign for this upcoming first-person psychological horror game. Here's an outline of the project and its goals:

Caffeine will primarily be a Sci-Fi Horror game, but at the same time employ a strong focus on both adventure and narrative and will include some smart puzzle game play.

There will be no weapons in Caffeine but you will be able to use the environment around you.

Scattered around the environment there will be a mass of notes, audio logs and clues to what the employees at the station were up to and what was going on in their lives, hopefully creating a great deal of lore for the world of Caffeine.

Caffeine started out as an Unreal Engine 3 game but is now being built upon the power of the brand new Unreal Engine 4 which gives me the freedom to push the limits of visual fidelity and game play.

Taking inspiration from Doom 3, Condemned and FEAR 2, I plan to create a chilling, often unsettling game with some amazing visuals and a great interesting storyline to go along with it.

The International Ticket Sales Friday

Valve announces tickets for this year's installment in The International, their Dota 2 tournament are going on sale on Friday. The event will be held in Seattle, WA in mid-July, and here's the deal:

Tickets for The International Dota 2 Championship will go on sale this Friday, April 4 at 3 pm Pacific time via Ticketmaster.

The finals for this year's International will be held July 18th - 21st at the KeyArena in Seattle, WA. Four-day ticket prices are $99 for General Admission, $199 for Floor seating, and $499 for VIP level.

The International was first held three years ago in Cologne, Germany during Gamescom with 16 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world competing for a grand prize of $1 million.

In 2013 the prize pool was bolstered beyond Valve's contribution by Dota 2 player participation in the Interactive Compendium, driving the total prize pool to over $2.8 million, up from $1.6 million. This year's Compendium will be unveiled soon.

Held at Seattle's Benaroya Hall, the 2013 finals achieved peak simultaneous online viewership of over 1 million, plus international television broadcasts and Pubstomp viewing events held in over 40 countries worldwide.

Dota 2 is a free-to-play, online action strategy game created by Valve (Bellevue, WA based makers of multiple game franchises and the leading online distribution platform, Steam).

This year's tournament will again be broadcast worldwide, free of charge, with play-by-play commentary in multiple languages.

Out of the Blue

Happy April Fools' Day! So we all know the drill by now... The day will involve some jokes, some laughs, and some klunkers that demonstrate that while everyone thinks they're funny, not all of them are correct (if that looks like cover for when we inevitably post a joke as a real story, it's because it is). Oh, and by the way, we have totally changed our name here to Pink's News, which is totally serious, and not at all a joke we've made before. You may have to force a browser refresh to see our elaborate makeover.
