Irrational
Games announces a new stealthy, nonlethal 1998 mode coming to BioShock
Infinite in the upcoming Burial at Sea – Episode Two DLC for the
shooter prequel. "In Burial at Sea – Episode Two we put a focus on balance and
stealth mechanics," explains Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games.
"As we were developing this new style of gameplay, we started to see people
self-impose non-lethal playthrough’s. Given the fan reception of 1999 Mode, we
thought it would be cool to give them another way to play Burial at Sea that
challenged their mastery of stealth tools."
A new
Kickstarter update for Tex Murphy - Project Fedora has a
video update
explaining the current status of the game. Big Finish games announces the game
will have a big finish, saying they have "packed two full-length Tex Murphy
Games into one." They provide tons of detail on the tons of detail in the game,
explaining this means they are reneging on their promise of 1080p graphics by
providing 2K graphics. According to the video's description: "The 2K format
being delivered with Tesla Effect provides 2048 pixels of horizontal resolution.
This refers specifically to the live-action full motion video portion of the
game. The actual game engine graphics are scalable to many resolutions your
monitor is capable of displaying." Thanks nin via

Steam News announces a
free weekend is underway in
Deadfall Adventures,
coinciding with a 50% off sale on The Farm 51's action/adventure. Word is:
"Deadfall Adventures is an action-driven first-person shooter, spiced up with
elements from action-adventure games. Become an adventurer, hunt for treasures,
explore unknown regions of the world and rescue the damsel in distress from the
clutches of enemies, both earthly and not-so-earthly."
The Onslaught DLC pack is now available for the Windows edition of Call of
Duty: Ghosts, as well as the PS3 and PS4 versions of the military shooter
sequel. Here's word: Call of Duty: Ghosts players on PlayStation 4,
PlayStation 3 and Windows PC can now purchase the first DLC Pack - Onslaught.
The new DLC Pack delivers four unique and classically designed Call of Duty
multiplayer maps, the all-new "Maverick" dual-purpose Assault Rifle/Sniper
Rifle, and the first installment in Extinction's four-part episodic narrative,
"Episode 1: Nightfall."
New multiplayer maps in Onslaught include:
- Fog: Set alongside the banks of a murky lake,
players skilled enough to pick up the map's unique Field Order can become
the embodiment of evil and don the mask of Michael Myers, one of cinema's
most iconic horror characters, in this chilling homage to classic horror
films.
- BayView: A coastal Californian boardwalk that
offers players fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Clever
players will be able to climb onto the map's moving trolley to engage
enemies, as well as call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval
Destroyer anchored offshore.
- Containment: This map drops players into a raging
battle amidst a war-torn Mexican village, where the action centers on the
crippled remains of a small bridge holding a hi-jacked truck leaking
radioactive material.
- Ignition: Is a reimagined version of "Scrapyard" -
the fan-favorite multiplayer map from Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2,
placing players into a deserted space launch facility with frenetic action
amongst abandoned warehouses, flame trenches, a massive transport crawler,
and dynamic map elements that can take players out if they're not paying
close attention.
Onslaught also arms players with the Maverick, a deadly new, dual-purpose
addition to their multiplayer arsenal. Outfitted with a lightweight wood stock,
players can choose to use the Maverick as either an Assault Rifle or Sniper
Rifle, depending on their tactical needs.
Anchoring Onslaught is "Episode 1: Nightfall," the first installment in
Extinction's new, four-part episodic narrative. As the initial foray into this
single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout
the year, "Episode 1: Nightfall" takes fans to a remote research facility hidden
deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the
facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This
expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien
species, and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverizes the Cryptids, as
players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind's first
contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.

Publisher bitComposer and developer Games Farm announce Shadows: Heretic
Kingdoms, an action/RPG coming to Windows PCs in the spring. The
Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms website
has screenshots and an
announcement trailer, and here's word: bitComposer and Games Farm
today announced Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms, a new action RPG to be released on PC
in 2014. In Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms, the mortal realm is on the brink of
destruction, with humanity’s only hope resting in the hands of a soul-devouring
demon.
Following the events of hack ’n’ slash RPG Kult: Heretic Kingdoms, a dark shadow
has once again fallen over the world. The core element of Shadows: Heretic
Kingdoms is its internally conflicted main character and the associated unique
party system. Players must assume the role of the Devourer, a mighty demon who
can travel back and forth between the human and shadow world, devouring the
souls of his enemies. Seamlessly switching between the Devourer and up to three
party members, each with their own special abilities, provides strategic depth
in battle, while switching between worlds also allows players to outwit their
opponents in battle, avoiding traps and solving puzzles along the way.
A shadow lies across the world, and the Devourer is the only one who can defeat
this rising threat. It is now up to players to decide whether they save the
world from this dark threat or leave it to its fate. Continue here to read the full story.
Daedalic Entertainment announces Munin, an upcoming Windows and OS X game
they say will offer "Nordic mythology meets puzzle-platforming" when it's
released this spring. The game is shown off
in these screenshots,
and here's word: Munin the raven, faithful messenger to Odin, now stands
stripped of wings and transformed by Loki into a mortal girl. Flightless and
determined, she will stride through the nine worlds of Yggdrasil to reclaim the
lost feathers and return to Asgard.
From Portuguese developer Gojira and publisher Daedalic Entertainment, Munin is
an upcoming 2D puzzle-platformer for Windows and Mac that fuses physics-based
puzzles with Nordic mythology.
Munin bolsters the traditional side-scrolling experience with the use of
rotating environments to surpass obstacles. By twisting portions of the
environment, players will create bridges from pillars, turn walls into floors,
and use physics to manipulate boulders, liquid, and lava.
Munin features 77 levels stretching across nine distinct worlds. It will be
released for PC and Mac in all major online shops in spring 2014.

A new episode of
Guy Cocker's Video Games Podcast talks with Curve Digital and Facepalm Games
about plans to bring The Swapper to Vita, PS3 and PS4, but during the
conversation game writer Tom Jubert also drops word that he's working with
Croteam to create the narrative for a new IP from the Serious Sam
developer. This is all still unannounced, but Tom offers the following vague
tease of the new project: I think this is actually a genuine sort of
exclusive, because I don't think this is public knowledge yet, but Croteam is
working on their first new franchise since the original Serious Sam in 2001.
Which is exciting, 'cause I've always been [eager] to see what those guys would
actually do with resources and all of that experience and all they've done is
Sam, and they're doing something completely new, which I am working on... so
that's ongoing now [and]... should be out at some point later this year.
Respawn
Entertainment tweets that Titanfall is gold, so the mech shooter
should be on track for it's planned release on March 11th. If a picture is worth
a thousand words, then the announcement is actually 1,002 words long: "We're
gold!!!!!! #titanfall

to listen to fans and act on their feedback,” said Jordan Weisman, founder of
Harebrained Schemes and creator of the Shadowrun game universe. “We are thrilled
to unveil our next story and can’t wait to see all the awesome new Shadowrun
stories that the community will create with the Dragonfall expansion and the

greatly expanding the game world developed by Harebrained Schemes.
A
new Kickstarter from Wasatch Games hopes to raise $10,000 for development of
Saga Heroes, an action/adventure RPG based on Saga, the MMORTS Wasatch
helped develop when they were still known as BlueOrb Studios. Here's word: "Saga
Heroes is an action/adventure RPG that is played from a top-down perspective,
very much inspired by classic action/adventure games on the SNES, but we've
added our own unique blend of adventuring, role playing, and action. As you
explore, you will complete many quests along the main storyline, and will also
have the opportunity to help NPCs by doing their side quests." Here's
