Titanfall PC Beta May Open to All Today

With the Xbox One beta testing of Titanfall now open to all users, Vince Zampella tweeted last night about plans to open testing of the Windows PC edition of the mech shooter to all, saying this may happen as soon as today: "Opening XB1 first, at some point tonight. PC will follow, maybe tomorrow." In the meantime, he has been tweeting lists of codes for the PC beta. Thanks Polygon.

Path of Exile Mini-Expansion Next Month

The Path of Exile website announces Sacrifice of the Vaal, a mini-expansion coming to Grinding Gears' action/RPG on March 5th (thanks S.TODD). Here's what to expect:

Path of Exile's first mini-expansion, Sacrifice of the Vaal, launches at 1pm PST on March 5. It expands the core game and sets the pace for our ongoing four-monthly updates. Today we're proud to announce both the name and theme of the update, while teasing some of the scope of how far the Vaal corruption has spread through Wraeclast.

More information will be teased and released over the following two weeks, with a full reveal of content on February 28 at the culmination of our upcoming press tour!

Kickstarter Breached

The Kickstarter website offers an "Important Kickstarter Security Notice" announcing that the crowdfunding service suffered a data breach last week (thanks The Verge). While no credit card information was compromised, details including usernames and encrypted passwords were accessed, so they apologetically warn users to change these passwords wherever they were in use:

No credit card data of any kind was accessed by hackers. There is no evidence of unauthorized activity of any kind on all but two Kickstarter user accounts.

While no credit card data was accessed, some information about our customers was. Accessed information included usernames, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and encrypted passwords. Actual passwords were not revealed, however it is possible for a malicious person with enough computing power to guess and crack an encrypted password, particularly a weak or obvious one.

As a precaution, we strongly recommend that you create a new password for your Kickstarter account, and other accounts where you use this password.

To change your password, log in to your Kickstarter account and look for the banner at the top of the page to create a new, secure password. We recommend you do the same on other sites where you use this password. For additional help with password security, we recommend tools like
1Password and LastPass.

Out of the Blue

Still working on getting things back to normal here. As I mentioned yesterday, the ads are gone until we can figure out why one or more of them was misbehaving. That should help a little with the page load, as it's gotten a little long already. Thanks again for your patience while we work things out.
