The
Batman Arkham Facebook page has an image telling us we should save the date
on New Year's Eve for some sort of announcement relating to the Arkham series of
Batman stealth/action game (thanks
All Games Beta via
VG247). There's little else to go by for now, here's the remainder of the
tease:
Visit this page on December 31st for a special announcement…more
details to come next week!
The
DayZ blog looks back on the first week of availability of the alpha version
of
DayZ, Bohemia Interactive's zombie game, noting
this post outlines their timetable for rolling out new features. Here's
word:
It has been a very busy week for the DayZ team:
The second week will be much calmer. Most of the team members are going to
take a well-deserved vacation week with their families, so please be patient
with us for the much slower pace in the coming two weeks. Thanks to all for the
incredible support and interest in the game so far. 2014 is going to be an
exciting year for DayZ. Merry Christmas.
Wings over Flanders Fields is now available, announces
the official website
for this World War I combat flight simulation built upon
Microsoft Combat
Flight Simulator 3, which is required to play. It also bears noting that
while CFS3 can run on 32-bit systems, WOFF only supports 64-bit Windows 7 or
Windows 8. In addition to the game, they are also selling the soundtrack and a
skin pack to support further development (thanks ReadyMan). Here's word:
A
new vastly improved and unique WWI Flight Simulation - WOFF has been redesigned
more than ever to put you in the seat in an open cockpit over "The Front" in
World War I. Fall deeper into WWI and totally immerse yourself! Many new
features have been written from the ground up.
With brand new AI and new outcomes data you can really watch your fellow pilots
rise and fall. Can you get your victory list to climb? Can you stay alive and
keep your squad alive through the mayhem? Fail and see the results affect your
Squadron, Jasta or Escadrille.
See the brand new AI fight or escape in true WW1 maneuvers and behavior! From
visuals to game play, just about every feature has been designed for more
immersion.
Most who enjoy WW1 flight sims enjoy the history too, but we all enjoy a good
dogfight! WOFF has all this with great historical detail, great graphics, and
superb AI pilots. WOFF craft are easy to fly, hard to master. Not arcade, but a
WW1 Air War simulator - really immerse yourself in the emotions and history and
breathtaking aerial fights of WW1!
A new patch is now automatically available for
Syder Arcade on Steam,
updating the indie action shmup (which is currently on sale for half off) to
version 1.6. The update adds new content to the game, and also adds a new Linux
version to go along with its Windows and OS X support.
This page on the Steam community forums has the complete changelog for the
new version. Here's word:
A new playable ship, The Overseer, joined the
three already available: fast and deadly in combat, heavily relies on wraiths
for damage and survivability and unleashes a powerful shockwave that destroys
enemy bullets.
Two new challenge levels are now playable. The Lighthouse, where the gamer is
called to defend the last bastion of Miza against a brutal pirate assault. The
Ice Canyon, a race against time on the frozen moon of Ymir.
New Steam achievements have been added, together with a powerup born from a
special collaboration. If you also own Unepic on Steam, some of the in-game pods
will be transformed into cute, pixelated Baby Dragons from UnEpic. A similar
surprise happens playing UnEpic with both games in the Steam library.
The
Titanfall website
now offers
another trailer,
this one showing off the Atlas titans from EA's upcoming mech game. Here's
the sales brochure on the Atlas: "As a multi-role Titan, the Atlas excels where
all other models fall short. The Atlas represents the state-of-the-art in
weapons platforms and provides good protection and increased mobility over the
Ogre chassis. Whether the mission demands reconnaissance, rapid assault, fire
support, tactical support, or a combination of all these, Atlas frontline
elements are dependable, powerful and, importantly, get results."
