The second
Kickstarter for
Shadow of the Eternals has concluded, once again
failing to land the funding Precursor Games seeks to create a third-person
action/adventure they plan as a spiritual successor to
Eternal Darkness.
The campaign by this developer which includes David Dyack and other Silicon
Knights veterans made it up to $323K, less than half their $750K goal.
This is an improvement over their first Kickstarter, which
was cancelled after
their initial push failed to land 10% of the commitment they sought, but not
enough to make their game. There's no update since the deadline passed, so
there's no word at this point whether they intend on giving this another try.
Kotaku has word that
Grand Theft Auto V preloads on PlayStation 3 may
have given enterprising hackers the chance to dope out some of the game's
content by examining the contents of some of the game's files. Spoilers ensue,
which may or may not be made up. There's also a
story on IGN about soundtrack details making this sound pretty authentic.
Thanks nin and Fantaz.
