The
BeamNG Store
offers sales of
BeamNG, an indie sandbox racing game that's still in the
alpha testing stage (thanks Sugarmanb). Those who purchase it can get the alpha
right away as well as the beta and release version when they are available. Word
is the final game will include six environments, five vehicles, and full modding
capability. If purchasing the alpha seems too risky, a
playable tech demo
is also available.
This
trailer shows off the game, suggesting the object of the game is to hit
obstacles, rather than avoid them.

A new
Indiegogo
campaign seeks funding for
Dungeonforge, a free-to-play action/RPG
that developer Collective Dream Studios hopes to develop with the community's
help, not just in funding, but in content creation. Here's an explanation:
"Dungeonforge is a free to play RPG where the community drives the content. We
provide a dungeon and quest creation system, a rich gameworld for community
content to exist in, and insane, action RPG combat with some innovative twists
thrown in for maximum freshness. Dungeonforge is built on two main premises,
that great gameplay, first and foremost, makes great games and that community
created content makes the gaming world go ’round."
This video offers an
overview and
this one
outlines how their dungeon creation system will work. There is also a
Steam
Greenlight campaign underway for the project.

I'm guessing a lot of you are as excited as I am over tonight's return of
Breaking Bad. There are mixed feelings involved in this, since there are only
eight episodes left, but having a planned story arc and executing it properly is
a rare thing in television, and it's this focus that puts BB in the discussion
of greatest dramas in TV history. Besides, the alternative is to keep milking a
show until it jumps the shark, and nobody needs that.
