Gearbox made their
promised announcement
of new
Borderlands 2 DLC at PAX Australia, revealing plans for an
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak coming "soonish" to
raise the game's level cap to 72, add a new training course, and provide an
object lesson in the dangers of calling something the "ultimate." There are
details
on IncGamers where they also have word on the announcement of another pack
called
Headhunter Pack: T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest, saying that will come
some time before Halloween, befitting T.K.'s newfound status as a zombie. The
second Ultimate Vault Hunter pack will be $5.00 while pricing on Bloody Harvest
is TBD, and while they specify the first DLC will not be part of season passes,
they do not address this for the second pack, though as far as we know the
season's pass has been fulfilled now.
PAX Australia also featured an announcement from Gearbox of their initial plans
for the
Homeworld IP they recently picked up
from bankrupt THQ, as they will be
releasing HD remakes of the first two games in the sci-fi RTS series along with
a re-release of the unaltered original games. According to
IGN no pricing details or release dates accompanied the announcement, as
current word is that a "small team" is working on these projects.
The
rumored Stasis
Interrupted DLC for
Aliens: Colonial Marines is due on July 23rd,
according to a report on
DSoGaming, where they do not say where they learned this. They say the DLC
will be preceded by a patch with tweaks and fixes, and offer this description:
The story begins as Lisbeth Hutchins and other passengers
onboard the spaceship Legato wake unexpectedly from hypersleep and must figure
out why their vessel has been diverted to intercept the Sulaco leaving LV-426′s
orbit. Fight your way through the alien-infested spaceship, find out what
Michael Weyland is after, and discover what truly happened to Hicks.
Cliffski's Blog now offers a
video "developers log"
for
Redshirt, Positech's upcoming "comedy sci-fi sim about social
networking aboard a space station." This includes the first gameplay footage as
well as "mitu explaining how to suck up to the boss."
