A
new trailer from
Star Citizen is a guide to the economy in the upcoming space simulation. The
clip features some gameplay footage as Chris Roberts discusses how various
elements interact dynamically in the game's pursuit of a true supply and
demand-based system. He gives the example of some supplies that would be used to
create missiles being hijacked will reduce missile production in a local area,
driving up prices, adding that the missiles expended in stealing or destroying
those supplies will factor into the equation as well. Thanks

An
update on the
Neverwinter website has details on a new campaign system being developed
for release later this summer in Perfect World's free-to-play MMORPG. Here's the
Reader's Digest version of the longer post: "The system itself will be a new UI
(user interface) window similar to the Queue or Professions window. In it,
players will find Projects that they must complete in order to unlock
Sharandar's other neighborhoods, the new Malabog Castle dungeon delve, and new
passive powers for their characters." Thanks

My bro and I got to do some hard labor in the heat yesterday, as a tree had
fallen on our dad's old country house, and a drainage ditch needed clearing so
it could resume its role protecting the house. Then last night MrsBlue and I
finally followed through on our plan to watch the 1967 version of
Casino
Royale, a Peter Sellers/Woody Allen spoof of the spy genre. I saw this years
ago, but remembered few details amid the impression it was one of those "madcap"
comedies that they made lots of in the 1960s. In the end, if I had to do one or
the other again, I think I would rather repeat the drive to the country and do
all the climbing, chain-sawing, log hauling and leaf-clearing in the hot sun
than sit in the air conditioning and watch that movie again. Even with the whole
"madcap" thing, never have I seen a more blatant disregard for storytelling in a
movie, and reading the
Wikipedia
article on why it turned out like it makes me think someone needs to make a
movie about the making of this movie.
