A
new
Kickstarter for
Frozen State from a startup called Snow Arc looks to
raise £60,000 for a survival/horror RPG set in a post-apocalyptic frozen Siberia
(not to be confused with pre-apocalyptic frozen Siberia). Here's
a trailer showing a
work in progress alpha, and here's word:
The game takes place in a secret
Soviet city, which was partly destroyed. You will get by, side by side, with
vicious alien hybrids, ruthless bandits and other survivors like you, who
haven’t lost hope. Exploring new areas, scavenging and fighting for your life,
you will be making hard choices between greater good and your personal goals,
which will lead you to different outcomes.
Our inspiration comes from many sources: games like Fallout 1 and 2,
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl, Metro 2033, Half-Life 2, Resident Evil; films
The Thing, Alien(s),Prometheus, The Road, The Myst; our favorite writers Isaac
Asimov, Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, Stanislaw Lem and many others.

VG247 offers a new
gameplay video from the Rezzed 2013 showing of
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong
Number, the upcoming retro-styled murder game. This is shot second-hand off
the monitor, which does not really harm the game's low-rez graphics at
all.

Wow, two days into summer and it's sweltering already. I have some ribs to cook
for dinner, and we're not far off from being able to cook them without lighting
a fire. Oh well, I can't dawdle... we have thunderstorms in the forecast for the
coming week. I guess that's typical here in the
Florida New
York City area.
