Patrice Désilets has
filed suit against Ubisoft over the designer's
recent firing, making good on this
statement he made at the time: "Ubisoft’s actions are baseless and without
merit. I intend to fight Ubisoft vigorously for my rights, for my team and for
my game."
GameInformer has the details on about $400K in compensation he is seeking,
along with the right to exercise his "turnaround clause" to take the rights to
1666: Amsterdam upon the game's cancellation. Ubisoft has previously
only admitted to having "suspended" the game
Désilets was designing before his firing.

The aftermath of tropical storm Andrea left us with severe storms and flood
warnings well into last night. This caused us to considerately and prudently (or
so we thought) call off our plans for this evening, which were for an outdoor
restaurant. Of course today the weather is perfect and we fee silly having
called off an outing for no reason, but we're getting used to this, as it's not
the first time we've been crossed up like this. Oh well, better safe than sorry.
