The
Gimbal website now offers a
new
Expansion One for this multiplayer shooter with buildable vehicles.
Here's word on the game: "Players conduct team-based combat against one another,
while gaining money and building bigger, better ships. Gimbal has a rigid body
physics engine with aerodynamics, so all subcomponents of a ship, even
unlaunched missiles, affect the speed and handling. Ships can be shared as PNG
images because the ship data is stored in the PNG." And here's word from the
project's developer on the expansion: "This is the largest release of features
since Gimbal's launch. Expansion One adds 26 new parts and four new game modes:
Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Elimination Deathmatch, and Racing mode. These
features add depth to the multiplayer gameplay, and work to bring Gimbal in line
with my original vision."
The
Kickstarter for
Among the Sleep has word that Krillbite Studio's
first-person horror adventure is funded, and the game has hit three of its
stretch goals, so the game will come with a commentary track and Oculus Rift
support, while the team will also get treated to an ice cream (thanks nin). The
game will offer the unusual perspective of playing as a two-year-old child, and
there are playable alpha builds for Windows, OS X, and Linux to see what they
have in mind.

Now things are really happening in ManStovia, as I have cooked up the first
batch of barbeque sauce of the season. This is just a simple
Coca-Cola-based sauce from Steven Raichlen, but it seems promising. It's a
little less tangy/spicy than I generally prefer, but its sweetness seemed a nice
complement to some grilled chicken, so I'm happy with the outcome.
