Of Swords notes that "Something’s up at callofduty.com," and sure enough,
heading to the website for the military
shooter series indicates that something is indeed up. What exactly is unclear,
however, as there is a vague image constructed from user photos, implying
there's something viral/social happening (maybe a flu outbreak at a cocktail
party?). The image has a ghostly quality, which ties into
some current rumors. Presumably
there's more on this to come.

supererogatory notes a revelation about BioShock Infinite DLC in the résumé
on Michael Shahan's LinkedIn
profile. The 2K Games animator's C.V. offered a (since removed) entry saying
he was "providing animation and R&D for a new AI companion character" for the
first-person shooter prequel. Thanks

The Starbound website offers a
thank you from developer Chucklefish to their supporters, as Starbound
preorders now total over $1 million. Word is: "Words can’t even express how
grateful and overwhelmed we are by all the support you’ve shown us– not just
over the past couple of weeks, but for the past year or so since Starbound was
officially announced. You’re all amazing, and we’re going to continue to work
our butts off to make Starbound an awesome game for you." This preorder funding
plateau triggers the game's third stretch goal, starter pets, which are
outlined here.
Thanks Joao.
The first game from Respawn Entertainment will be exclusive to Microsoft
consoles if
the rumor on Kotaku is accurate, as they say "two unrelated sources familiar
with the game" tell them the debut project from the studio formed by the former
heads of Infinity Ward will come to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 720 (or whatever
it will be called), but not to other console systems. The PC is not mentioned in
the report, but it is usually unaffected by such console sibling rivalries. They
also have a description of what the game ( possibly
titled Titan) will be like, saying it will involve David and Goliath
combat between foot soldiers and mechs, adding the source of that description
does not work for the developer. Thanks nin.

those who preorder will receive a second copy of the game to give to a friend,

anomaly2game.com will receive another

a new trailer to
celebrate the news. Continue here to read the full story.
SEGA announces details about the new Theater of War Mode coming in
Company of Heroes 2, Relic's upcoming World War II real-time strategy
sequel, which is due for Windows PCs on June 25th. Word is this will allow them
to present historical scenarios that are not part of the game's main campaign.
"We get a lot of requests from fans to showcase specific conflicts from the war
and it isn’t always possible to fit these into the campaign, says producer Greg
Wilson. "Theater of War gives us the opportunity to deliver these new gameplay
experiences to our fans." Here's more: SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA®
Europe Ltd. today announced that Company of Heroes™ 2 will ship with an all-new
mode called Theater of War on top of its gripping cinematic campaign and
critically acclaimed competitive multiplayer.
“We get a lot of requests from fans to showcase specific conflicts from the war
and it isn’t always possible to fit these into the campaign. Theater of War
gives us the opportunity to deliver these new gameplay experiences to our fans.”
Theater of War allows Relic Entertainment to tell different stories from the
conflict in the form of new playable single player and co-operative content. The
mode includes solo challenges where players are pitted against overwhelming
odds, AI battles against an enemy commander with a unique play style and
co-operative scenarios for fans to enjoy with their friends.
At the launch of COH2, the Theater of War mode will include missions from key
battles in 1941. Choosing either the Soviet Red Army or the Germans, players
will visit different locations across the Eastern Front and take part in some of
the most famous battles that occurred that year. Each faction has 9 unique
missions included. More Theater of War missions will be added to the game at a
later date, including the previously announced mini-pack for all eligible
pre-order customers.

Ubisoft announces a release_date for Watch_Dogs, saying the upcoming
hacking game will be released on November 19th in North America for Windows,
Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and WiiU, and for next generation consoles whenever
the next generation arrives. They celebrate the news with a
new trailer showing off
the game, including some phone-and-gun gameplay, and announce a GameStop
preorder bonus: Today, Ubisoft® announced that its highly anticipated
game, Watch_Dogs™, will be available in North America on November 19 for the
PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and
entertainment system from Microsoft, the WiiU™ system from Nintendo and Windows
PC, as well as at the launch of the PlayStation®4 from Sony Computer
Entertainment Inc. (SCE). The game is also planned for other next generation
consoles.
Fans can check out the latest action in Watch_Dogs by watching the gameplay
trailer, released today. In the Watch_Dogs gameplay trailer, Aiden Pearce takes
his fight to a never- before-seen district in Chicago and encounters new
characters while trying to put his past to rest.
Players who pre-order Watch_Dogs at GameStop stores across North America will
receive an exclusive poster designed by famed comic-book artist, Alex Ross. The
poster’s design is the inspiration behind the game’s box art and captures the
essence of Aiden Pearce, a modern-day vigilante who must rely as much on brains
as brawn to take down threats in our increasingly connected world.
Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with
the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central
operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will
be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal
information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public
transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the
ultimate weapon.

Techland announces Hellraid is the new title of the game
announced as Project Hell, which
started as an internal modification for Dead Island, the developer's
zombie game. This single-player & co-op first-person hack-and-slash game is
coming to Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 "later this year," and the
new Hellraid website has the latest
screenshots and info. Here's word from the announcement of the game under its
new name: Techland has formally announced Hellraid, a first-person co-op
slasher that offers two games in one: a single-player, story-driven campaign of
hack & slash action; and unique, co-operative multiplayer that pits four players
against the denizens of hell – and each other – in a battle for points, rewards
and fame. The first official screenshots, game details and more are available on
Hellraid.com, where you’ll also find the developers blog, offering a
behind-the-scenes look at the production of Hellraid.
The armies of Hell brought pain and destruction to the realm of man, and only a
select few have the fighting skills necessary to confront the devilish
monstrosities. Combining elements of hack & slash RPGs, first-person shooters
and online multiplayer games, Hellraid features an advanced, immersive combat
system with melee, ranged and magical weapons. The engaging Game Master system
makes each game a different experience, placing loot and enemies while
generating random online challenges.
With exploration, looting, questing, weapon crafting, boss fights, armor
customization, character development, leaderboards, magic and so much more,
Hellraid is set to drag you straight to hell later this year on PC, Xbox 360 and
PlayStation 3.

A listing on XtraLife.es has a listing
from this Spanish game etailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts, an unannounced
installment in the military shooter series. The listing has since been removed,
but the box art and details are shown on
Nintendo Everything, and
Joystiq notes that this title, which has already been rumored to come to
consoles, now also lists the PC as one of its target platforms. The listing also
has a release date, saying the game is due on November 11th.
The Kickstarter for Infinite Space 3: Sea of Stars now shows that
Digital Eel's upcoming sci-fi roguelike-like sequel has achieved its initial
funding goal, and there are four days remaining to fund the game's stretch
goals.
This update from a couple of weeks ago outlines these goals, the first of
which is the Space-o-Tron digital encyclopedia, aka "the dungeon master's guide
to the Purple Void."
Another Kickstarter with stretch goals in play is
the campaign to fund Worlds of Magic, the throwback 4X fantasy game.
With three days remaining they have hit the goal to add a seventh playable
faction and they are closing in on the threshold to add 20 roaming creatures
(and a partridge in a pear tree), so they have revealed the next two goals
beyond: £45,000 will trigger the release of OS X and Linux editions along side
the Windows game, and £50K will add two more playable factions.
The top 20 chart of the bestselling full-priced PC games in the U.K. on
GfK Chart-Track is now updated for the week ending April 27th. SimCity
remains entrenched at number one on a chart where the top 10 contains two new
entries: Dead Island Riptide at number three and Star Trek: The Video Game at
number six. Meanwhile Riptide enters the
all-platforms chart at number one, Star Trek enters that chart at number
three, and debuting at number seven in LEGO City Undercover: The Chase begins.
Markus Persson
tweets about drop, a new
Unity-engine game from the Minecraft creator
also known as Notch. He says this is inspired by the
Ludum Dare competition,
as well as
Super Hexagon and the ending of Fez (thanks
Polygon). Also,
VG247 notes that
The Road
is an actual Ludum Dare entry from George Broussard formerly of 3D realms. This
game was created in 48 hours, a development cycle approximately 200,000% shorter
than that of Duke Nukem Forever.

those that's hard not to smile at.
