Kotaku has a discussion of
Orion: Dino Horde, a new version of
Orion: Dino Beatdown that's now available on
Steam. Their story is titled
"Terrible Video Game Gets A "Sequel", And Not Everyone's Happy About It,"
discussing bad blood that exists from the development of Orion: Dino Beatdown
over public firings of team members, and complaints from contractors not getting
paid. The game also got poor review scores, hence their "terrible video game"
characterization, which plays into a
story on Eurogamer which discusses how some of the players who savaged the
original game were outraged to find it seemingly getting a second chance on
Metacritic, saying Orion: Dino Horde was not a new game, but rather a patched
version of the original. This turned out to be a valid complaint in the eyes of
Metacritic, who have since removed the new listing, as explained by Metacritic
boss Marc Doyle: "As with any game that has been patched or improved over the
weeks and months following its initial release and critical reception, those
initial reviews follow the game."
The Celtics and the Knicks are in the midst of game one of their playoff series
at this very moment, and I want to extend my thanks to the team for turning a
corner this year and playing excellent basketball after a decade-plus of
mediocrity. The game was preceded by a joint NY/Boston color guard in a very
touching ceremony centered on the Boston bombing which had a very nice feel to
it considering how incredibly strong the sports rivalries are between these two
cities and these two teams.
