A post to the Darkfall Blog
has word that Darkfall Online
will be shut down upon the launch of Darkfall Unholy Wars
, which was originally announced
as an expansion for the MMORPG, but they now say is a separate game: "These are different games and the DFUW character system is incompatible with the old characters. These are two completely different worlds, there is a different skill acquisition system, different skills, different stats, all the way down to the story-line everything makes them incompatible." As for Darkfall Online players, they speak of commemorating characters of the old game in the new one, and make the following offer:
As far as Darkfall Online players needing to buy Darkfall Unholy Wars or not, we will keep our promise and give everyone who ever bought Darkfall Online the opportunity to get the new game just for the price of the subscription. Even though we had promised this before we decided to make a new game, it’s the least we can do for our community.

An interview on Gamasutra
talks with Tom Hall and Brenda Brathwaite of Loot Drop about their just-announced Kickstarter
for an "old school RPG." They discuss their goal of melding traditional elements like character development and investment with modern elements like advanced graphics. There's also a discussion of how the pair will be developing two different parts of the same game world, which explains why one of the Kickstarter's stretch goals is two separate games. Here's a bit on that:
Brathwaite and Hall have conceived of the game as having two distinct worlds part of the same universe and the same timeline, where one of them is fundamentally Brathwaite's and the other's is Hall's, with a bridge connecting the two.
Hall's second world is viewed as something of a sequel if the game's stretch funding goals are met. But ultimately the pair will collaborate on all aspects of development, and in Hall, Brathwaite has the ideal complement to her RPG values.
offers a new version 1.39 of the XMR Editor, which allows the creation of custom cars and tracks for X-Motor Racing
. There are no specifics on the new version, but here is an overview: "XMR Editor is a free tool that contains an example of the car and two examples of the tracks - one test track and one off-road track. XMR Editor allows you to create cars, tracks and add them into XMR. Also it can be used as a modding tool to import any tracks and cars from many other racing games for your own private use."
