offers look at Fuel Overdose
, a tactical/action/racing game coming to Windows and consoles. Here's word on the game and the trailer:
As great fans of the top-down/isometric view racers of the 80’s and 90’s, we wanted to bring the driving experience of these games back to life. From the very beginning our ambition has been to reconnect with a racing experience that would be fun and easy to learn, and at the same time deep and challenging.
But we also wanted to introduce innovative game features such as the grappling hooks that you can use to grab other vehicles, to get back on track, or to perform perfect turns. Hardcore racers will also have the opportunity to test their driving skills and improve their performance with very advanced techniques such as skidding, drifting and spins.

Keen Software House is pleased to announce the release of super-secret project: Miner Wars Arena, “little brother” to Miner Wars 2081.
I am delighted to announce the release of Miner Wars Arena, our new fast-paced arcade game inspired by the PC gaming classic, Tunneler. It features a state-of-the-art top-down view, 2.5D gameplay in a fully destructible environment, and on the edge split-screen out of the box. It’s a total blast! You really need to try it: http://arena.minerwars.com
Miner Wars Arena was a bit of a surprise to everyone. It wasn’t planned at first. But I was tempted by an idea of making a little brother to the six-degrees-of-freedom Miner Wars 2081. I figured that 2.5D top-down gameplay would be easier for players to understand and orient themselves within.
In the end we decided it would be best to create two completely separate games: 2081 and Arena. I believe this was the right decision, because now we have the best of both worlds.
has their accounting of the top 20 bestselling full-priced PC entertainment titles in the U.K. for the week ending August 25 (delayed from yesterday due to the U.K. Summer Bank Holiday). 30 percent of the list is Sims games, and there are two new entries in the top five: Darksiders II
at number five and Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition
at number three as Football Manager 2012
maintains its stranglehold on the number one spot. Darksiders II enters at number two on the all-platforms chart
where Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
joins at number five and Sleeping Dogs continues to lie on top.

There was a commotion outside in the wee hours of the morning, which turned out to be a bunch of fire engines, one of which settled right in front of our house, since we are guardians of a fire hydrant. We haven't found out what happened yet, but it must have been pretty routine, as they didn't hang around too long, and it's obvious nobody's house burned down. The weird thing is that someone hit a siren as they drove off, which seemed like an odd way to depart the scene of such a call, especially at 2:00 am, but if I had a siren like that I'd be using it whenever I could too.
