The Turn to 10 Website
has word that the receiver in the 38 Studios bankruptcy case plans on selling all the company's physical assets at auction, saying "Idealistically [sic] we're talking several months." He grants that it may take longer as he is furiously cramming to learn what he needs to about the value of the IP with the help of an unnamed former employee of the former developer, as the report states: "Land said he's learning more about video games and the value of computer software. He said he's even hired a former 38 Studios worker to help create the platform to possibly sell some of the intellectual property." Thanks Jim.

A post to the Diablo III Forums
has some additional patch notes for the new version 1.04 patch that just went live in the action/RPG sequel. This lists a number of details and cosmetic changes included in the patch at the time, but not listed, and they say if they recall any other omissions they will make a further follow-up.
A playable demo of an alpha version of Underrail
is now available on Indie DB
, offering the chance to sample this old school turn-based isometric RPG in development at Stygian Software. This trailer
has a look at the game, which was at one time known as Timelapse Vertigo, and here's a description: "The game is set in a distant future, when the life on the Earth’s surface has long since been made impossible and the remnants of humanity now dwell in the Underrail, a vast system of metro station-states that, it seems, are the last bastions of a fading race."
"It really feels like getting the band back together as we're seeing opportunities not available to us before," says Interplay boss Herve Caen in a quote on Eurogamer
about their plans to revive
the Black Isle Studios label. "Given our unique position, expanding online and mobile platforms, and renewed interest in our proven properties, I see an incredible success potential for Black Isle Studios." In this case, "the band" will have none of its original members, but they do have the highly regarded Black Isle IPs to work with, and the story
states they plan on creating AAA RPGs based on them, though it does not offer a direct quote supporting that. However this is reflected by the mission statement on the Black Isle Studios Twitter Feed
, which reads: "Black Isle Studios is a division of Interplay Entertainment devoted to creating the world's best role-playing games."
Focus Home Interactive announces release dates for The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

, saying: "These new screenshots show the famous detective and his friend Doctor Watson in the midst of their investigation. In a month, you will be Sherlock Holmes, and this will be your investigation!"
The Jace Hall Show Ep. 7
features a new trailer from PlanetSide 2
, SOE's upcoming MMOFPS sequel. This is being presented with a viral veneer, so prepare your fake outrage and be sure to rush to see this before it is "banned," since the powers-that-be can't stand anyone having any fun. Word is: "The Jace Hall team delivered what may be called the 'Nanite Ned' trailer (starring PlanetSide 2 Creative Director Matt Higby) and it's safe to say, SOE President John Smedley is not pleased. Luckily, the entire process from pitch to final trailer has been documented. Smedley has ordered the SOE team to immediately spread the word on the trailer in hopes of creating awareness of the epic failure as well as to save industry peers from making the same mistake." I called the local department of public works yesterday about the malfunctioning stop signal, wanting to suggest that since the outage was in its third day, they might want to consider putting a traffic cop there during rush hour, or something prudent like that. Oddly, the guy I spoke with made it sound like they were unaware the traffic light was broken (even though I presume they were the ones to set it to blink when it went on the blink, so to speak), acting as though I was reporting it, rather than complaining about something that was already reported. I can't believe this went so long with them being unaware of it, but supporting that theory is the fact that it was repaired by the evening rush hour. Weird.
