A post on the Penny Arcade Website
includes a low-key note announcing they are working on two free DLC packs for On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3
and that there are also plans afoot for a fourth episode in the series (thanks nin). Here's word:
Enthusiasts of On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 should know that we’re getting close to finalizing the first free DLC package, “The Lair Of The Seamstress,” which we’re hoping will come out soon. We don’t know when, exactly, but apparently there’s some kind of big convention or something next month; maybe we’ll try and put it out then. Zeboyd is coming up tomorrow to work on Rain-Slick 4 and the last DLC (also free) for the current one that details the fate of the player character from the first two games.
As many as 11 million passwords of gamigo users have been released online, more than four months after they were grabbed during a database attack
, reports Forbes
. Word is: "Though the passwords weren’t posted in a readable form initially, they may still be compromised. Within a half hour, another user in the Inside Pro forum thread responded to the post of the file with a message reading “found 94%,” implying that the passwords may have been easily derived from their hashed form."

from MechWarrior Online
introduces the Caustic Valley environment from the upcoming mech shooter. Word is: "Today Piranha Games unveiled the Caustic Valley in the Inner Sphere for the upcoming MechWarrior Online – and it’s hot! I mean, the video is hot, but the Caustic Valley (aka CMO 26) is a mineral rich, hazy and brutally hot valley environment that will affect how your mech disperses heat, drastically affecting your gameplay and strategy – especially those with heavier, hotter mechs. A new video
from Sins of a Dark Age introduces one of the characters from Ironclad Games' upcoming MOBA-RTS hybrid. Here's the deal: "Descending from a long line of Knights in the Imperial Captial of Calan, Vallamere earned his knightship in the defense of the northwestern front from early Horen raids. An ambitious squire in his uncle's regiment, he left home as a promising upstart and returned as a man...and a legend. Though certainly a capable soldier on the battlefield, Vallamere's true strength lies in his ability to inspire those around him to overcome the enemy with a unified might and an unshakable morale. Fighting with honor, sometimes to a fault, allies gladly follow his lead and enemies always respect him. Immensely protective of his homeland and its traditions, Vallamere is an incorruptible local hero and is emulated by children all across the empire…." Continue here to read the full story
Demiurge Studios Announces Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings
, a free-to-play PvP follow-up to Shoot Many Robots
, the recently released co-op action shooter. They are adding players to the game's closed beta on a weekly basis, but do not offer a release date yet. Here's word on the game:
From Demiurge Studios comes Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings, the player-versus-player follow-up to its recently released Shoot Many Robots. The new, standalone title Arena Kings is an online deathmatch that pits players against each other in a game of (porcelain) thrones. In “Royal Flush” the Kings must murder each other to collect their crowns, and flush them down a teleporting golden toilet, naturally. New content and updates are being added to the game weekly, based on feedback received directly from players. Don’t just stay tuned to see what happens next – be a part of it!
Arena Kings is a free-to-play title for PC via Steam, and is currently in a closed beta. Prospective Kings and Queens can sign up at http://arenakingsbeta.shootmanyrobots.com – batches of keys are sent out weekly!
“We’re taking our favorite parts of Shoot Many Robots and stirring in PvP competition and gameplay that’s constantly evolving,” says Will Jennings, lead designer on Arena Kings. “It’s like a big tasty vegetarian stew with lots of guns in it, but also alive and mutating and fighting other soups. While I’ve got notebooks full of weapons, special moves, and pants I can’t wait to add, what’s really exciting is getting to hear from players in the earliest stages of the game’s development and giving them what they’re asking for, sometimes in the very next weekly update.”
Arena Kings still has the zany gear from Shoot Many Robots (Butterfly wings, tighty-whities, deep sea diver helmet? Check, check, check!), and will continue to expand the creative uses of the multitude of equipment. Completing challenges to upgrade your arsenal and unlock achievements is only the beginning of how Arena Kings will continue to build upon its predecessor.
Though it failed to meet its funding goal in its eleventh hour
, the SKYJACKER Kickstarter Page
outlines "Plan B" for this space combat simulator, as they are now accepting pledges on the Digital Store of Digitilus
and are looking to break the project into smaller chunks with more modest Kickstarter goals than their entire $200K budget. Here's word:
SECOND - no doubts, we believe that most of you will do your pledge there in our site. But sure somebody will not be able to do this, or somebody prefers to pledge only here in Kickstarter. We have a second part of our Plan B exactly for this case. The plan is to break out the whole development cycle into smaller stages and to launch series of new kickstarters with reachable goals (around 15K - 20K)
A post on the Diablo III Forums
(and this follow up post
) outline an exploit to make Wizards invulnerable in Blizzard's action/RPG sequel. The first post originally outlined how to perform the exploit, but that was later edited out of the post, and while there are a bunch of posts suggesting this is not true, there are at least as many saying it is, as well as a video of someone showing the it in action. The latest posts in the thread include arguments over whether or not this has now been addressed by a hotfix. Update:
The now-closed thread includes this post from Blizzard: "Thanks for your reports guys! We'll get this addressed."
has the list of the 20 bestselling full-price PC entertainment titles for the week ending July 21st, showing Diablo III
maintaining its hold on the number one spot. The top five remains static on the all-platforms chart
where LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes
is numero uno once more.
It was a little rough overnight here at the BlueTower, as we had an unexpected fireworks show nearby last night that was far more calamitous than anything from Independence Day, which gave Hudson the wonder dog a huge freak-out. Then she woke me in the middle of the night equally freaked out by an almost equally calamitous thunderstorm, so both of us are a little sleep deprived today. This is a little easier on her than me at this point, since one of her daytime jobs is sleeping.
