Capcom Unity announces
that a "mix of paid and free DLC" will be released for the PC edition of Street Fighter X Tekken
, saying this "should arrive by the end of the week." They also suggest that the next round of DLC for the PC edition of the brawler is probably coming around the end of September, saying:
Quick update for PC SFxT players - a big blast of DLC is on its way, and should arrive by the end of the week. As with the console versions, this batch is a mix of paid and free DLC... The full list is coming, but you can look forward to the replay analyzer, gem capacity expansion and extra colors, as well as a deluge of new gems and alternate costumes for all released characters.
Regarding other patches and the 12 additional DLC characters (which now arrive 7/31 on consoles), the timing has been roughly two months from console to PC. So, while I don't know the precise date for further updates, you can generally assume it'll be ~60 days after the consoles get it.
We're trying to shorten that gap as much as possible - apologies for the wait, guys. <3
Speaking of Capcom (above story), CapcomVancouver Tweets

developer also adds they are We’re still growing and aggressively seeking great talent

EA's BF3 Community Manager took to Reddit
to clarify details about the just-confirmed Battlefield 4

). Word is beta testing should commence in Fall 2013 and that there will be ways to get into the beta besides preordering Medal of War Warfighter

Seeing a lot of questions about the BF4 beta announce and thought that'd I make a thread where you can find official, definitive information and help to address some concerns that I'm seeing.
- The beta will be in Fall of 2013. We don't have a BF4 release date yet but, of course, it will be after the beta.
- We will continue to support BF3. DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3. Just as we've continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4.
- There are several teams at DICE. Starting work on Battlefield 4 does not mean that we will be abandoning Battlefield 3 or working any less hard to bring you the best expansions we can.
- Your feedback absolutely matters. We will continue to use it to improve BF3 and to make Battlefield 4 even better from day one.
- Official details regarding BF4 will always be on Battlefield.com/battlefield-4. We expect there to be a lot of rumours and speculation - don't fall for it! ;)
Let me know if you guys have other concerns. Obviously, at this point there are some things that we don't know or that we're keeping under wraps.
Today's a busy day so it may take me some time to get back to you - thanks for your patience!
EDIT: Additional points of clarification
A Spicy Horse Game Dev Update on Kongregate
announces the addition of avatars representing several famed game developers to Big Head Bash
, American McGee's free-to-play deathmatch game. McGee himself is one of them, along with Tim Shafer, Will Wright, Ian Livingsone, and John Romero, making this the first shooter to give the Romero a big head since Daikatana was in development (apologies John, couldn't resist). The latest update to the game also adds some new toys and weapons, and a new gameplay mode called Capture Point.
Sam Raimi will not be directing a film based on World of Warcraft
reported from Comic-Con last week, saying the movie will need another director now that he's signed on to direct Oz: The Great and Powerful. This seems to indicate he was officially connected with the project, but reports emerged early this year
that he would not be wowing us with a WoW film. Thanks VG247
The Hero Academy Website
has new screenshots and details for the "Steam-exclusive Team Fortress 2
heroic team" coming to the game. Word is:
Robot Entertainment has released new screenshots and details that offer players a first look at the unique abilities of the upcoming Steam-exclusive Team Fortress 2 heroic team. As with all previous teams, the release of the new Team Fortress 2 team will be accompanied by TF2 avatar packs for your Hero Academy profile and a new playing field inspired by the TF2 capture-the-flag map, “Well.” In addition to the exciting new team, each of the previously released heroic expansion teams that players purchase in the Steam version of the game will unlock a unique cosmetic item in Team Fortress 2 inspired by a member of that team. Hero Academy will be available on Steam on August 8th, 2012, and is currently available on the iOS App Store.
IGN - Is Metacritic Ruining The Games Industry?
It also leads to some very dodgy behaviour from the publisher side of things. I’ve been told stories of PR executives working on particular games being directed to specifically target these smaller sites in the hope of raising that average score and covering up a less enthusiastic reception from the big outlets. For most people working in games marketing, Metacritic will come up during their annual review process, and a less-than-ideal average score for a game will sometimes result in a severe bollocking.
Well, Linsanity didn't last long here in New York, as Jeremy Lin is off to Houston
. The team is getting ripped in the local press, which makes no sense, as questions about his game aside, it would have been completely impractical to match the poison pill contract he signed with Houston. He had to know the Knicks couldn't sign him to a contract that would have cost them $43M in the third year thanks to the "luxury tax," so in spite of how it seems, it's not that the team didn't choose to keep him, it's that he chose to leave.
