Though this GameTrailers TV Page
now offers the May 18th episode of the show, Joystiq
reports it briefly offered a description of tomorrow's show, which reads: "E3 begins on GTTV with the Star Wars 1313 announcement and new trailers from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Tomb Raider, Guardians of Middle-Earth, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and Dishonored." Star Wars 1313
would then seem to be the the expected
Star Wars E3 game reveal, and Joystiq points out that Boba Fett once used the alias "CT-1313," so this game may be somehow based on the enigmatic bounty hunter. They also note that that LucasArts has registered the domain StarWars1313.com. Thanks nin via Kotaku
Valve releases new details about Dota 2
, confirming suspicions their upcoming MOBA game will be free-to-play, and offering details on the Dota store:
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today confirmed that Dota 2 will be free to play and announced the Dota Store in preparation for the game's release.
Upon its opening, the Dota Store will offer items created by Valve and members of the community that may be used immediately and carried over after the public launch of the game. Early Access to the game is not required to purchase items before launch. However, gamers may get into the game now by purchasing the Dota 2 Early Access Bundle of items.
"The opening of the Dota Store is a big part of our final push to launch," said IceFrog, design lead on Dota 2. "With support for the Steam Workshop, the majority of the items made available on day one were created and being sold by members of the community. By making the game Free to Play, we hope to give gamers the ability to decide how - and how much - they want to invest in the game."
Targeted for full release on the PC later this year, Dota 2 promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action that has made Dota popular with tens of millions of gamers around the world.
Later this summer Valve will host the International Dota 2 Championships 2012 in Seattle, WA.

The Korean Fair Trade Commission raided Blizzard's Seoul office on Monday after receiving complaints from gamers who were refused refunds over inability to play Diablo 3
during server outages surrounding the launch of the action/RPG sequel, reports the Korea Times
. "We have received many complaints from Diablo 3 users," a spokesman for the FTC told the paper, though he reportedly refused to elaborate beyond admitting that Blizzard is under investigation. This doesn't sound like the outcome will live up to how dramatic this all sounds, as while the report says authorities "secured related documents and other evidence with which it will determine whether Blizzard broke the law," the potential outcome is apparently simple refunds, as the paper says: "It’s too early to see any results of the probe but some investigators expect the regulator to issue an order mandating Blizzard to provide a full refund to all unhappy customers." The Batman: Arkham City on Steam Page

Activision and Infinity Ward have settled their legal dispute, reports Ars Technica
, where they point the way to this tweet
from Ben Fritz which reads: "'all parties have reached a settlement in the dispute, the terms of which are strictly confidential' is the agreed upon party line quote." They also note this tweet from The Verge's Mike McWhertor
says "'No comment' from Jason West and his attorney on settlement as we leave courtroom. Just a beaming smile." This litigation surrounded the departure of Infinity Ward founders West and Vince Zampella from Activision, Call of Duty bonuses, accusations of poaching, and more. Now after the suits and countersuits, it appears this matter has been settled out of court.

AMD announces the release of an AMD Catalyst 12.6 Beta Driver
with an advance look at the next reference drivers for ATI/AMD graphics cards. If you are wondering what happened to May's version 12.5 drivers, AMD announces they are moving away from their monthly schedule: "With the release of the Catalyst 12.6 Beta driver, AMD would also like to announce that we are moving away from our Monthly Catalyst release plan. Our goal is to ensure that every Catalyst release delivers a substantial benefit to our end users; as we have today with the release of the Catalyst 12.6a Beta. We will still continue with the Catalyst naming convention; Catalyst: Year.Month., You just won’t see a new driver every single month. We are confident that this will only benefit the end user; you’ll only need to upgrade to a new Catalyst driver, when it makes sense."

I appreciate the thoughts on the Gunnar-man's peeing incidents (and we had a poop yesterday as a capper). I'm going to approach this from the point of view that our moving uncertainty has transferred to him a bit, and he's acting out accordingly. I will attempt to mitigate this by doubling up on the doggie's walks and see if that helps restore some of his sense of place. In the meantime I need to get some hip-waders.
