Star Wars: The Old Republic announces BioWare's Star Wars MMORPG will launch on December 20, 2011 in North America, and on December 22nd in Europe, noting that those who preorder the game and register on the website will be eligible for early game access. "This is an incredible moment for everyone at BioWare and our partners at LucasArts who have dedicated their lives to build this extraordinary game," says BioWare co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka. "We appreciate the patience from the millions of fans who have been waiting for the game’s release." The game comes with a 30 day subscription, and they outline the fees that are required to play after that:
- 1 Month Subscription: $14.99 (£8.99/€12.99)
- 3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/£25.17/€35.97)
- 6 Month Subscription: $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/£46.14/€65.94

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning kicks off a new series of videos showing off the upcoming role-playing game in the works at 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. Word is: "This video details the beginning of every hero's journey and introduces players to some of the distinct characters and various factions they will encounter, befriend and defy as they adventure through Amalur to redefine the land's fate in this expansive RPG world."

Is YouTube now on a modem connection or something? It seems like many clips I view from there lately repeatedly pause to buffer, especially in HD. I ran a
Speedtest to see if it is on my end, and the results showed my stupid-fast internet connection has actually gotten even faster: My 30 Mbps connection has actually improved by 10% somewhere along the way, and is now actually pulling 32.99 Mbps downloads. I haven't had any problems streaming from other sources, but YouTube has really become painful lately. Is this just me?
