The Elemental Forums now offer a new document from Fallen Enchantress is Magic offering a detailed outline of the magic system in Stardock's upcoming turn-based strategy sequel. Included therein is information on every single spell in the game. Word is: "One of the three focuses for Fallen Enchantress is Magic. We want the spells to be unique, to feel like casters with enough mana can change the world. We want magic to fill the game, all the sovereigns start with spells though some like Procipinee are better spell casters than Verga. As in Master of Magic you can choose your sovereigns proficiency with the various magic types when you create them."
The Star Wars: The Old Republic Website offers a new Comic-Con trailer from BioWare's upcoming MMORPG. Here's word on the clip, which is titled Join the Fight: "The uneasy peace established by the Treaty of Coruscant is broken and both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire build their armies. As both sides prepare for open war, a new generation of heroes must rise up to meet the challenges of a volatile age, declaring their allegiances and fighting for what they believe in."
A new teaser trailer from Jagged Alliance Back in Action is now available, showing off the upcoming return of this tactical turn-based strategy sequel. The clip includes cinematics that bring to mind The A-Team, including a Liam Neeson lookalike.

It's been a long time since we shipped an Unreal game, and it's an awfully loved franchise that we hold pretty dear here. A playable demo is now available for Supreme Ruler: Cold War, offering the chance to duck into the fallout shelter and sample this Cold War installment in the Supreme Ruler series of strategy games. Here's word on the demo, and its accompanying series of tutorial trailers: "Paradox Interactive together with allies Battlegoat Studios are proud to announce that the demo for Supreme Ruler: Cold War is now available to all aspiring world leaders as this Cold War turns hot. A new patch is now available for Men of War: Assault Squad, updating Best Way's World War II RTS sequel to version 1.96.6. This is accompanied by the release of a new Skirmish Pack DLC on Steam which adds five new missions. The full English patch is available on the Men of War: Assault Squad downloads page, and the English and Russian full and incremental patches are mirrored on The Patches Scrolls and WorthPlaying (the Steam edition will update automatically soon). The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has word that the federal and state governments in Australia have reached an in-principle agreement to provide an R18+ rating for video games, after years of debate over how to bring adult games to the territory. "The introduction of an R18+ classification for computer games will provide better advice to parents and help prevent children and teenagers from accessing unsuitable material," said Federal Justice Minister Brendan O'Connor. "Once introduced, the new classification will also afford adults the opportunity to view material designed for adults."
A new trailer for Batman : Arkham City is now available, introducing the Penguin character from the upcoming superhero stealth/action sequel. Word is: "Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today released the new trailer for Batman: Arkham City showcasing the scheming villain in his role as the black market racketeer of Arkham. The foul fiend brings his criminal and financial genius, hand-to-hand expertise, treacherous toys and his feathered friends into the walled streets of Arkham City, with the sole aspiration of ridding the world of the Dark Knight." MrsBlue and I are currently working through a disagreement over whether to get a portable air conditioner. For ten years now we've been able to get by with only one AC unit, which is up in my office, relying on the high ceilings, ceiling fans, and other elements that keep the house bearable in the summer. This current heatwave has finally got me willing to give in on this, but as has been repeatedly demonstrated, my willpower pales in comparison with my better half's as she is remaining stubbornly steadfast in her refusal to consider this.
