Blizzplanet reports on a letter Blizzard is sending veteran
World of Warcraft subscribers offering them a free copy of Blizzard's MMORPG to give to a friend. This is a full version of the game with 30 days of free play. Word is: "Your friend has to create a WoW account, and once his 30 days expire, his characters and progress is saved for the next time he pays the subscription. There aren’t any restrictions on the accounts created under this 30 days promotion."
An interview on
The Reticule chats with Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester, covering topics like their upcoming games, E3, digital distribution, and more. Along the way he offers an interesting perspective on the lack of PC gaming at E3: "I don’t think the PC needs the hype as much as the consoles do. PC Gaming see a stream of innovative content being added all the time and PC is by far the best platform in terms of value to the gamers. An E3 PC press conference would probably only touch on the Triple A titles and PC is so much more than that."
Somewhere along the way I recently figured out that the murder of crows haunting our backyard from the dead birch tree are not actually crows at all. It turns out they are grackles, which explains why they do not make the racket cawing that the local crows do (and also why they are not as giant as the crows). It still makes for a cool and haunting vista, but it would be cooler if I could still refer to them as a murder. I poked around to see if a flock of grackles has a specific Middle English collective name, but they don't seem to have one, so I'll have to make one up. For now I'll borrow gaggle from geese. Gaggle of grackles has a certain ring.
