We invite gamers in to see it back in Carolina and we take their feedback very seriously." Thanks VG247 via That VideoGame Blog.
This video interview conducted by Grey Viper at E3 discusses Battlefield 3 with DICE's Patrick Söderlund. They discuss various aspects of the game, and how it expands and improves upon previous games in the military shooter series. Along they way they ask how long the single-player campaign is expected to be, and received the following answer: I don't have a number for you... yet, 'cause the game is not done yet, and I don't want to... To me the game can be anything from six, seven, eight, to ten hours, depending on what we net out once we're done. I think the most important thing for me is that the game delivers upon a consumer experience that we're happy with, and then, that will then... that's how we look at it, and that will tell how long the game is.

An investor group involving Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick is working on a deal to buy a controlling interest in Myspace, the struggling social networking site currently owned by Rupert Murdock's News Corp, reports Reuters, citing "a source familiar with the matter." Word is Kotick's group is the leading candidate for a sale, which will likely be for under $100 million, in spite of the site's $580 million price tag back in 2005. According to their source: "Kotick's involvement is personal and nothing to do with Activision at this stage." Thanks The Grifter.
This batch of screenshots and artwork show off Neverwinter, the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons RPG still in development at Cryptic Studios, in spite of Atari's recent sale of the developer to Perfect World. A new About Neverwinter document outlines what to expect from the game, accompanied by this FAQ, which answers some questions. We also have the E3 teaser trailer from the game, which shows off a lot of characters and environments, though not much in the way of actual gameplay. The FAQ leaves questions about pricing and system requirements unanswered, but does give some detail on support for player-developed content. Here's a bit on that: Q: Will I be able to make my own adventures and play through them with my friends?
Yes! It wouldn’t be a true Neverwinter game without a content-creation tool! Players will be able to shape and add to the world of Neverwinter by creating and building their own adventures or full-fledged campaigns from the ground up using The Foundry for Neverwinter.
Q: What is The Foundry?
The Foundry for Neverwinter is your chance to craft the world of Neverwinter your way. A robust and powerful toolset, you can use The Foundry for Neverwinter to create and build new adventures and campaigns to share with your friends and the entire Neverwinter community. Learn more by visiting our Foundry informational page on the official website.
Q: Will I be able to play adventures created by other players?
Yes! Making player-authored content available to the community is an essential feature of Neverwinter and The Foundry makes it happen.

A re-launched Carrier Command Gaea Mission Website is now online, offering a home to Bohemia Interactive's upcoming action/strategy remake, representing the first real sign of life from this project since it was announced in August 2008. The game has obviously missed its announced spring 2010 release, and the website now lists a Q1 2012 release window, though it makes no mention of Black Element Software, so it's not clear if this Bohemia subsidiary is still involved in development. Here are some screenshots, and since Carrier Command: Gaea Mission is being shown off at E3, as noted in this announcement, its E3 trailer is online.

A couple of comments by John Carmack at E3 reveal that id is already looking ahead to RAGE 2, even though its predecessor is not yet complete. "After Rage certifies, the heavily-lifting code team will be migrating over to do new systems for [for DOOM 4]," he tells IGN. "Building up the new team has been challenging to bring that many new people in and bring them up to speed. We're going to migrate more of the Rage team people, and then we're going to roll onto Rage 2." A post on GameSpot has more, with the id Software technical director: "Yes," he said when asked if they were planning RAGE 2. "We haven't got a formal, official announcement, but we're certainly headed in that direction." When asked about what console systems this far-off project would target, he said: "I am working on next-generation engine technology and what we'll be doing with graphics when we start really rethinking it. It's likely that the project after Doom 4, the next major one, will be designed around being cross-generational." Thanks BadBoy.
A post on eGamer lists various tidbits about Duke Nukem Forever from the contents of the demo for Gearbox Software's upcoming first-person shooter. This also includes three DLC listings which appear to be a weapon pack, a multiplayer map pack, and a single-player map pack. Thanks Eurogamer via BeyondUnreal.
Ubisoft now offers exact release dates for Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Call of Juarez: The Cartel, reports VG247, saying Revelations is due for all platforms on November 15 and The Cartel is due for Windows on August 26, with the console editions to precede that on July 22. The Assassin's Creed date is a Tuesday, so that covers North America, but the Call of Juarez dates are both Fridays, so that is for Europe.
Closed beta testing of Indomitus is set to kick off next week on June 13, offering access to this free-to-play fantasy-themed MMORTS game. The beta will run for two weeks, which will include four beta events, and word is: "All accounts will be deleted at the end of the closed beta test. No characters or information will be saved after June 27th."
Former 3D Realms audio guru Lee Jackson is holding an eBay auction for the audio cards from the system he used to compose Grabbag, the Duke Nukem theme song from Duke Nukem 3D. Word is: "Each card comes with its original box. I have autographed and dated both boxes, and have also autographed the manual for the CardD Plus. I even found enough blank circuit board space to place an autograph directly onto the I/O CardD add-on card itself. As an added bonus, I will include a Certificate of Authenticity with the cards stating that I did in fact use these very cards to record digital audio versions of 'Grabbag'." The proceeds of the auction are to help him create a proper modern audio system to return to music composition, though 10% of the take is being set aside as a charitable contribution for Drum Corps International.
