GamePro spoke with GameStop about what to expect if you are one of those who preordered
Duke Nukem Forever, or who inherited a preorder from someone whose time came before Duke's (thanks
Ant via
Slashdot). Word is they plan on honoring these preorders and expect to extend Duke's Big Package to these committed folks:
"With a long-anticipated release like Duke Nukem Forever, we encourage customers who pre-ordered more than a year ago to verify their reservation with their local store prior to launch. Provided the customer has a receipt, we will honor even those pre-orders taken long ago. At this time, we expect that all pre-order customers will receive Duke's Big Package at time of purchase, regardless of when the reservation was made."

The Secret World, Funcom's upcoming conspiracy-laden MMORPG. The topic of this clip is story and missions, and it features Ragnar Tørnquist, Joel Bylos, and Dag Scheve discuss the storytelling possibilities for a game set in a world where every conspiracy theory you've ever heard turns out to be true. The developers also discuss the way the game's story is presented, and the various types of missions the player can undertake. The discussion is accompanied by a good deal gameplay footage. The embedded version follows.

Today is Memorial Day here in the U.S., a somber occasion as we contemplate the sacrifices of soldiers. I offer my respects to the fallen and my sympathies to those of you who have lost family and/or friends to the ravages of war.
Our cooking out plans were pushed off until today, which may not have been optimal, as it's hotter and more humid than it was yesterday. It's pretty toasty standing over the grill anyway, so it's not that big a deal.
