The
Crysis 2 Blog has an official reaction from Crytek to
news that a pre-gold build of their upcoming shooter sequel
Crysis 2 has leaked onto torrent sites:
Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.

Bitmob - Duke Nukem Eventually: Disappointment by the numbers.
The hubris of Duke's creators has tarnished the charm of his character. And because of their errors, we're stuck with a gigantic man-baby, who is little more than a walking anachronism. Maybe they should have left him alone, back in his own time, where he could have been happy stuffing dollar bills into strippers' thongs and wasting Pig Cops.
Fox News Latino - Call of Juarez: The Cartel Turns Border Violence Into a Game.
“I think this should be taken very seriously considering the large scale demonization of Mexico and the Mexican people,” said Dr. Kathleen Staudt, Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at El Paso. “People who don’t understand the border and don’t know the border are now going to view it in a caricature game,” said Dr. Staudt, researcher on topics including immigration, the border, and violence. “The whole picture of the border is one in which people are suffering tragedies but also it’s about the resilience of the people.”
Cliffski's Blog - Democracy and Steam.
Now obviously, steam can do what they like. They are a private company. They might think the game is too amateurish. they might think it won’t sell. They might think that their time is better spent getting bigger budget, or newer games listed. Democracy 2 is a few years old now. This is all up to them. However, I can’t help but think it would sell really well. It’s a game that looks a bit sucky in screenshots, but people get into it really quickly. I think there is a market there, especially amongst the ‘I only buy games on steam’ crowd. It’s very moddable too.
In a welcome, though startling, turn of events it is above freezing here today, if not by much. But the forecast is currently calling for it to hit 50 °F on Monday, so I'm hopeful that the mountains of snow we've had around here for weeks will finally melt.
